Playoffs - First Up: Patriots

I knew about Brady's finger but didnt know about his broken ribs..although many QB's have played with broken ribs, im sure its not the most enjoyable injury lol...all the more reason to put the pressure on him and at least get a hit on him if we dont get the sack

The one thing every NFL fan knows is Brady crumbles under pressure. He isn't the most mobile of QB's but it's never hurt him for the fact he has incredible pocket presence. IMO one good sack and you can count on Brady being mentally done.

Welker is Brady's quick release WR, when the pocket crumbles he'll target Wes for a quick route- when the pocket holds up he targets Moss. With Welker out... if we can apply pressure on Brady he'll fold like a lawn chair.

wow whatever anything to make that man look like a miracle worker. He is also playing a Ravens team that has traveled all of the US to get there. Not to mention leaving sunny LA to play in the dead of winter. I'm tired of the Brady saga this organization kills me. For one they are overrated and im even less impressed with the media attention and officiating in the games that they play.

I really don't care who is injured. The Ravens have to go up there and run it down their throats. And them run it down their throats some more. This Pats defense isn't what it was earlier in the year.

Just think about this: In week 4, two of the Patriots TD's came on drives extended by BS "roughing the passer" penalties, on 3rd downs that the Ravens stopped.

Foxworth did a nice job against Moss in the first game as well, with the exception of one play. Moss is big, but he's not brutal, he's a finesse player.

I don't know what the rest of the Pat's injury list looks like but the Ravens are getting HEALTHY at a time when most teams are starting to pile up the injured.

To win, its pretty simple:

Double team Moss all day. Make Watson and Edelman beat us (which I don't think they can). Pound the rock with Rice and McGahee, oh and Clayton has no business being on the field. Williams went into the lineup and played really well while Clayton was hurt. Yet again yesterday, a now healthy Clayton couldn't get open against a back up CB on the Raiders. He gets NO separation and is 5'9 wake up Harbs and play Mason, Williams, and Washington.

The Ravens can't count on injuries to players on opposing teams to win the game; they have to come out fighting and keep up the intensity for the entire game... but I believe they can do it!

GO RAVENS!!!
Julian Edleman stepped up right into Wes Welkers spot. 10 catches for 103 yards despite not starting the entire game. Julian is a spitting image of Welker.
Welker is out for the playoffs, torn MCL and ACL and could miss some time next season as well.
The game is going to be great 1pm Sunday. I would think the Patriots will try to establish their run game and take a few chances deep to Moss. The Ravens key, will be stopping the run and being successful themselves running the football with Rice and McGahee. Can the Ravens defense contain Brady, not sure but as a Colts fan I would like to see the Ravens knock out the Pats.
Most important thing is the Ravens can NOT make stupid penalties.

we keep it under 8 penalties. we win .. no doubt about it.. our o line is healthy and we have ray rice.. there's the offense.

reed and sizzle are playing again with the ever constant ray lewis .. there's the defense... just keep carr and walker from getting too many PI calls and we win.

we can win this we just got to play smart and its a W for the ravens

I'm not sure what time the ravens are playing saturday, can any one help ?
Probably already got an answer but we're playing Sunday at 1:00.

Now my thoughts:

The Patriots are 8-0 this season at Gillette. Yeah they're hurting but they could still beat us if we give them the chance. They're still dangerous, regardless. Wes Welker gone is a really bad thing for them but some Patriot will man up. We need to be careful.

Hit Brady hard and often, penalty or not (it's princess brady, so more than likely it will be a flag). With 3 broken ribs and a busted finger, the multiple hits will wear on him as the game goes on. As the game wears on, his throws could be errant...which would be nice!

The Ravens can definitely win this game. If it weren't for a bad receiver...oops...I mean dropped pass...they could have won in week 4. Stop the penalties, CONCENTRATE and the rest will fall into place.

if the refs don't baby brady & if we stop moss we win
Trust me, if we get a bs call for sacking brady or knocking him down expect someone to illegally put a hit on him on the next play.

I would have no problem with that. Other than a win, what I want to see most next Sunday is Brady get punished.

If we get consistent pressure on Brady and keep it clean in the secondary, i.e. no "illegal contact," holding, or PI, then we win. Oh, and we need to pound the rock and then pound it some more.

If Brady has all day to scan the defense, it won't matter that Welker is out, he will tear us apart.

Kevin Faulk is another guy that the D needs to gameplan for. Hopefully they put Ellerbe on him whenever he comes out of the backfield.

I'd love to see Brady get knocked around quite a bit. Charlie Frye was a nice example of how to get roughed up cleanly. Of course I didn't see him lobbying the refs into throwing a flag either! You know Brady will, he always does.Bring the cheese, whine will be served. lol!!

Agreed. Faulk has the ability to make big plays on 3rd down (or any down really), and we struggled getting off the field against the Raiders...

sorry, what means to play D-Will ??
They mean they want to see Demetrius Williams (D-Will is his nick-name), one of our wide receivers, play more. ;)

The Ravens have never beaten the Patriots and the Patriots have never lost a home playoff game under BB.

One of the most penalized teams in the NFL taking on a team with the reigning roughing the passer penalty drawer (Brady).

This should be interesting.

Flacco needs to stay in the pocket.
What pocket? I haven't seen anything resembling a pocket in weeks.

The Colts could never beat the Pats either... it's time to get that proverbial monkey off our back too

I may alone on this but I really dislike whenever the Ravens go into zone coverage. Unless it's in the end-zone, it seems like whenever the D goes into zone, a player finds the hole and the QB completes the pass. It happened several times yesterday.

The key to good zone coverage is LBs displaying good range and safeties being disciplined. Ellerbe is improving in pass coverage but isn't spectacular and Ray is severely limited. Landry doesn't always have the foot-speed and Reed likes to follow the QB's eyes.

I would much rather live with the team losing one-on-one match-ups than letting receivers and TEs run wide open in the deep middle and underneath.

I hope the coach requires the Ravens to wear some long-sleeve Underarmour under their uniforms for the upcoming game in New England. If the Green Bay game was any indication, our guys do not do well in sub-freezing temperatures. All those bare arms in frigid Green Bay must have contributed to the lethargic nature of the Raven's play. Let's get it right for this game and remember what mommy told you, "Bundle up!"

When we play against the panzee's we get a lot bogus of penalties because of the princess Tom Brady. They know we are a hardest hitting team the AFC ever seen. So with that being said we are going to get a lot of penalties based on our reputation to save Princess Brady career. In order for us to win the game against the panzee's we need not to make stupid mistakes to keep the penalties down. Also, we need clayton & Mason not to drop easy passes again.

I for one would like to see some different offensive approaches. We need a deep threat like D-Will for everyone to know that we dont just dump passes off to Rice and Mason ALL the time. And Todd Heap to help block more instead of going for routes unless on play-action or 2 TE sets where another TE can block as well. Because lets face it, Oakland blew up our exterior line yesterday and the Pats arent going to be much easier...

Several things i think need to happen to win this game.
1- keep brady on the bench, control the clock
2- keep peneties down
3-Joe needs to play like a raven ,not make mistakes ,get the ball out faster and find an open man, Man where is your passion wake the hell up!!!!
4-play calling let's not over do it unless the situations is there, another words don't over play our hand
5 defence, pressure ,sacks whatever it take to keep brady from getting into a grove.
6- coverage on WR, keep hands out of the way ,don't get beat
7- CB make a play intercept
8- Kick the ball for a score.
This is alot to ask for but they have been practicing all year for this chance to finally put it all together and win. There is no more fixing the mistakes from previous weeks the time has come the time is now there no more saying we can fix that in practice , Practice is over it's time to win , put it all together and win.
