Ravens Dave

Week 14: Indianapolis Colts At Baltimore Ravens

As weird as this sounds, given the bleak circumstances and how few games there are left, this is one of the few times where I'd agree that the back-ups and younger guys need to go in.

I know there's still A LOT of game time left, but seeing as how the Ravens have nothing left to play for this year, might as well. Don't want to risk injury to the starters, even though the coaches and players will still play to win.

There's a guy behind me about 10 feet to my left who keeps recapping all of the Colts scores to some radio station (I think), so I have to hear that every 5 minutes or so.

And there's another one for him to recap.

Might be that NFL Sirius Satellite Radio guy.

I remember him, because I used to listen to him on NFL Network updates when I wanted to check on scores of other games (when I still had NFL Network, anyway).

That's what we SHOULD do. I think Billick begs to differ.

Well, of course he'd beg to differ. As any head coach would.

Considering how much time is left in the game, for pride reasons, NO head coach would bench their starters this early in favor of the back-ups.

In the press box, people are generally subdued with their emotions.

I mean, after the first quarter, it's visible who's pulling for whom (local media, anyway), and the only type of celebration is limited to small high-fives or fist pumps. No big bursts of emotions, or you get kicked out ASAP.

From what I was able to hear from the national media members during the Browns game, most of the issues were blamed on a lack of execution and injuries (and turnovers), not the playcalling or the coaches.

Just to clarify, of course. :P

Thanks for the insight! I know you mentioned it was hard to control your emotions haha...

No problem.

But my experience and eavesdropping (lol) is proof that not everyone believes Brian Billick and the coaching staff is entirely at fault.

And they thought the "Fire Billick" movement was absurd.

But that's a story for another thread...LOL

Back to the game...

did I just see some real pass coverage there? or was it my imagination?

Hush, only I get to be sarcastic tonight.

Y'know, it'd be pretty sweet if Ozzie Newsome & Co. picked up Delaware running back Omar Cuff in one of the later rounds...

Baltimore would get the NATION'S LEADING INDIVIDUAL SCORER (in ALL divisions) for a LOW price tag AND get a nice complement to Willis McGahee...

Just throwing that out there. ;)

Hmm...so a Mac runs Vista faster than a PC, eh?

I think I want a Mac laptop now. :P

(off-topic, I know)

YAY! McGahee's back in the game! :)

It'd be nice to have a two headed monster in Baltimore.
