I feel bad for Welker because he's a heckuva receiver, but man, I hope he's hurt... just slightly of course. Miraculous recovery in, oh, about a month.

Welker is one of my favorite players in this league, which is ironic considering how much I despise the Pats and all they stand for. He's just so consistent and clutch, but most importantly, he's humble as can be. Looks to be a good guy, too.

I feel bad that he's injured, especially considering how well he's played this season and how far they've come to get to where they are.

Can't say I want to see him on the field when we take 'em on, though. Wes is more important to New England's success than Moss is, IMO.

Like a lot of people have said, I'm really just happy to be in the play-offs. While the future of this team looks bright, they have had to overcome a ton of issues this year and being in the play-offs is a testament to the character of the players and the work the coaches have put in.

I'm also "just happy to get in" but I'll be a whole lot happier if we kick New England's butts. We CAN beat them.

Yes and that will be one more monkey off this teams back. One less week of the offseason. I was quite bummed we did not finish at home, but after this weather I'm kinda glad.

The Ravens have more good players on this team than almost any other team IMO. The problem is that our players can't seem to play as a team. The thing is, when our players play as a team, we look awesome.

I hold people to high standards , especially when I know they are capable of more then what they have been showing.

I would not be happy with a one and done.

Play like a Raven and win the game.

if we win the Super Bowl we would be the first 9-7 team to pull it off. I think we can pull off a 4 game fluke streak :D

Cam better get his crap together for this game cuz although our defense can hold teams points wise, we're not gonna be able to straight up save his hiney in the playoffs. Its a two way street, drink lots of coffee, look at insane amounts of game film and dissect that Patriots defense. Heaven knows that Belichick wont let your ****** check down to Ray Rice 15 times next week.

I know people will call this a losers' mentality -- and rightfully so.

But I will gladly take a playoff loss to the Patriots just because:

1) The Ravens are in the postseason in back-to-back seasons for only the second time in franchise history.
2) The Steelers are out of the playoffs.
3) The Ravens are well-represented in the Pro Bowl.
4) There's no shame in losing to an extremely talented team like New England in their own home.

Now, keep in mind, of course I want our Ravens to pull off the upset -- but with the season as bad as its been, the playoffs were just a nice surprise and a win over the Pats would be an even nicer one.

So now I have thrown all expectations out the window and I'm just looking forward to a good game this weekend. If we have a playoff run, even better. And if we have a Super Bowl run, I will gladly eat my words and wear my embarassment like a badge of honor, just to see our boys hold up a Lombardi Trophy.

Do other people feel the same way?

Is making the Playoffs really that important of a task in itself?? It means absolutely nothing if there is no Lombardi Trophy that comes from it. If we fall in the Playoffs we are in the same "forgotten" boat as every team that didn't make the Playoffs.

Not necessarily; making the playoffs saves people's jobs and gives hope and something to build on for the following season. Not only that, but if every team considered their season a failure for falling short of the Lombardi Trophy, that means there's 31 failures in the NFL every year. Not sure if you'd classify Peyton Manning as a failure for having won only a single Lombardi Trophy in his career thus far.

Yes, everyone plays to win a championship, but fact is, making the playoffs is still important for building purposes. You can't build a dynasty if they've never tasted the playoffs before.

I love it how you've already gotten a negative rep. There is nothing wrong with your logic. Why do we fault our fellow members for being honest and putting forth the effort to create some debate. This is a football forum people, stop being so sensitive.
