Joe was ALWAYS the planned long term solution. You don't pick guys in the first if thats not the plan. He will get better and he did throw for 21Td's and 3600 yards passing with nearly 90 QB rating. I'd say thats pretty darn good for a second year signal caller. Troy is a backup and will be proven as such if he leaves after this season. BTW, Troy threw a pick in his las completion IN THE ENDZONE.

Consider, also, that Pro Bowl QBs average anywhere between 3500 and 4000 yards passing per season. Flacco is definitely on the right track.

Considering that 4000 yards is difficult to get (despite half-a-dozen QBs achieving that milestone this year), for Flacco to only be roughly 400 yards shy in his second year is amazing.

Joe Flacco's numbers are not good at all. Like I stated before, his numbers are based on YAC. He has only completed 10 passes over 30 yards in 2 years. He dumps it off and lets the receivers *** his stats. Joe Flacco is a backup and is no better than Castle. Which we found to be another avg QB

Again, speaking to YAC, how many QBs deliver the ball straight to the receiver and the receiver just STOPS? Also, how many long bombs do you see that are caught JUST in the end zone? You only see a handful of those 20+ yard endzone TD receptions weekly, if that. You don't see that regularly even from a Peyton Manning or a Tom Brady. YAC is a common part of any passing offense.

Welker will probably not play that game... that's a positive.

Brady has three broken ribs as well.

The vast majority of QB's numbers are due to YAC... what would Tom Brady's numbers be like if Welker (who tore his ACL and MCL) wasn't getting YAC after those little bubble screens and quick slants?

The best part is that we knocked out the Squealers in the process :)

Honestly, that felt better than making it to the dance today.

Well its round 2 against the Patriots next week. So now the question is we get the 5th or 6th seed? If Jets lose tonight the Texans get in as the 6th Seed and the Ravens move to the 5th Seed. I'll be pulling for the Bengals tonight as I want the 5th seed and I want the Texans into the playoffs for the first time in their franchise history.
[/quote]

I'm actually pulling for the Bengals for the same reason, the Texans making the playoffs.

You're BLIND. Joe Stats are accumulated the same a Brees, Rivers, Manning etc. YAC yards aren't just a gift for Joe, all QB's benefit from them. Not to mention, Joe has a bit less to work with then the top QB's.

I appoligise to anyone whose feelings i hurt. Flacco is definitly better than Smith we just need to get WR's who can get seperation. I hope this team plays with more urgency and tensity than they have the past few weeks or it will be 1 and done next week...

Exactly. He's fine. I'm really worried he's in some kind of funk right now, but his production is right where it should be.

I'm debating the playoff shirt because I already have two "What's our Name?" shirts and the "Play Like a Raven II" shirt: http://baltimoreravensstore.com/product.php?productid=17038&cat=310&page=1

That long Willis run was the best Raven play of the year. He basically raped that CB of his dignity on the football field.

So what will you call the Steelers fan tomorrow? Maybe you should simply hand him a fork and tell him it's the Steelers season.
