Ravens All-Decade Team

26 posts in this topic

So here it is. Took me awhile to remember, and a little research, but I compiled a roster of what the 2000s decade Ravens team would look like. Offer your opinions. Players you think should be added or deleted. My dad helped me with this list because he knows the 2000-2002 better then I do. And as far as I'm concerned, our defense is unstoppable.

I think that Jeff Saturday should be there over Mike Flynn and Vinny T. should be there instead of Boller.
But Jeff Saturday was only on our practice squad, he was never a true Raven.

Don't you want them to be the best that they can be? :P

I'm surprised that Rod Woodson and Priest Holmes aren't there, and I would have thought that the 2000 team's strong safety would be better than Landry.

Surprised your Dad thought Siragusa was better than Sam Adams. Anyway if you move Reed to SS like he played his first couple years you can throw in Rod Woodson who is a Hall of Famer. For the record, Starks was a better corner than Baxter and Rolle when Starks was with us.

Isn't this the same thing as an all-time Ravens team? And we did this a few months back.

Micheal Jackson needs to be in there. And if we are using best players while a Raven. I would probably leave Willie Anderson out.
Michael Jackson wasn't in this decade, and it's not Willie, it's Bennie. He was a guard for a good amount of time.

Sam Adams at DT for sure, Rod Woodson at safety, Mac 9 over Boller and Dilfer, B.J. sams as a second KR/PR. I would also wany Gary Stills and Brendon Ayanbadejo on ST.

on the O-line I would have Orlando Brown and Yanda there as well. On WR's I would include Marcus Robinson. Ya I know he wasn't that good, but that's how bad our WR's have been.

I guess you could slide Travis Taylor on there too. He really wasn't very good, but he has more TD's with the Ravens than Robinson did.

Give me Priest over McGahee. Also, as others have said, McNair for Boller, Woodson as second FS, maybe Adams over Burnett if we can stuff him in as a 3-4 DE even though he never was for us?

I'd have to disagree with Priest Holmes playing on this team unless we had 4 RB's. McGahee has done more for us in 3 years then he did in 3. I'd have to say this team should primarily always be in two TE sets to cover up the bad WR play.(Mason excluded)
(Priest wasn't in his prime with the Ravens)

He was good for us, he just had a small role. I think he had something like 600 yards in our superbowl year behind J.Lewis at a time where a feature back was the norm, not the platoons that are now. I think when he moved to KC he proved himself to be every bit the back Lewis was.

Priest rushed for 1,000 yards in 98 before we drafted Jamal, he was still even then as a rookie a very capable back. Jamal just fit what we were doing as a team at the time, aka massive, fast people that liked running into things lol.
Urm, I'm pretty sure he was technically a Raven, but since he never played maybe not?

McNair over Boller. Slide Reed to SS and add Rod Woodson at FS. As hard as this is to say, Sam Adams over Kelly Gregg. Adams and Goose was a HUGE reason we were the best defense ever. Imagine Ngata and either one of these 2 together lol.

Consider these things: The amount of time played here, their success as a Raven, and there talent overall. No offense, but McNair had a decent year here and thats it. In 2007 he sucked.

McNair was only healthy one year. Regardless a 13-3 is enough for me to put him in over Boller in my all decade team.

Mcnair definitely deserves to be past Boller in the all-decade team.

in 06 Mcnair-Mason-Clayton looked unstoppable.
