Ed's Record...

Darren Sharper is now the owner of the record for most yards on interceptions return, he's got 376, thanks to Josh Freeman ! Ed is still DA MAN on interception return and the most dangerous in the nfl when he gets the ball in his hands on defense !!!

GO RAVENS

yep, sux, oh well. Sharper has been good longer than ed, and looks like he will continue while ed will probably retire this year or next cuz he just cant stay healthy.

WHAT?!?!?!
In 8 seasons he missed 11 games. Except of 2005 and 2009 he played in every single season game.

Who said that he could retire?

Have you been under a rock? He's been dealing with a litany of injuries of major injuries the past two years.

Um, a lot of people have started to recognize that possibility. He's had a nagging neck injury for 2+ years. Now he's got a somewhat serious hip problem, and the neck thing isnt going away. Its affected his ability to tackle and it may just be more trouble than its worth pretty soon.

I'll say this, the play of Zibikowski this season has made the potential loss of Reed seem less catastrophic. You can't replace the insticts of a player like Reed. All you can do is know your assignment, be where you are supposed to be, and make the routine plays. Zibi's done that and more this season. I've been impressed.

I like what Zib has done but Ed has the instincts that are just not coachable.

Same. Zibby has been solid. He's made plays in coverage and hasn't blown a play either. The one TD he's given up was to one of the most athletic TEs in the league.

And staying with Zibby, the interception return he had is exactly the reason I've been lobbying for him to return punts. The guy isn't a world-class athlete but he's deceptively good with the ball in his hands.

Ed Reed says he wants to pursue Safety Coaching after he retires.

I say we hire him as ours immediately.
[/quote]
Amen to that! Hope we do not allow him to go the Jets.

I want Reed and Lewis both standing on our sidelines with clipboards the minute they retire.

It may happen with Reed but I don't think Ray will become a coach right away. People who know him have said he has so many other interests and will want to pursue them once he hang up his cleats.

I'm real sad since Ed's been my favorite player ever since he was drafted.
His career is coming to a real sad unfortunate ending.
I'm going to be so upset when he does retire.
If he stays a few more years (like 1 to 2 years), and wins a super bowl, then I guess it won't be as bad.
I just reallllllly want him to get a ring in the worst way.

I think we all love Ed! He is one of those rare breed of players who does'nt come along often. I'd hate to see him retire, but you know that if he can't play up to his standards he's to much off a class act to try to hang on and do anything he thinks would hurt the Ravens. As for secondary coach, they better get him a clip board and make room for him on our staff!
