Week 16 – Baltimore Ravens At Pittsburgh Steelers

1,463 posts in this topic

I don't understand what the coaches are watching. Frank Walker is awful, no matter what Harbaugh says. Carr is not much better. As for the refs, everything they called on the Ravens was at least semi-legit, but Timmons hit on Mason was dirty and a clear penalty. Leading with your head is not ok. Isn't that the point of rules, to make the game safe? Let me conclude by saying lets see some discipline. 10 penalties is not an acceptable amount.

Frank Walker....... GONE

Chris Carr........ GONE

Cousins........ GONE

This team needs to be overhauled in the off-season. With Webb having the top CB spot, Joe Haden will look so good next to Webb next year with Foxworth at Nickel. Luckily for us the Dolphins, Jags loss and the Broncos will get killed by the Eagles so we'll be in at 9-7 next week.

I'll bet they're not going to get rid of a draft pick that quickly. It seems like the coaches are very, very reluctant to start rookies so I bet they don't expect much from young players and they'll probably let Cousins stay on for a while longer.

Harbs loves Walker, but you never know, maybe he's finally overstayed his welcome.

I'm going to contain myself and just say that we could do without Carr, and we probably will.

Am I dreaming? Did Mason really drop a wide-open TD that hit him in the face? Wasn't Ben outside the pocket, thus negating illegal contact? How the Steelers don't commit an offensive or defensive holding all game makes me wonder what's going on...

To all the ref-hate-us members, what about the first Heap TD? That was clearly inside the 1. And what about the non-called fumble on Mason?

I am as frustrated as you are, but stupid penalties that could have been EASILY avoided and a rare drop by Mason cost the Ravens the game.

Look at the cheap penalties!

Carr, cleat PI.
Walker, clear PIs
Suggs
Ngata
Washington
and the list goes on..

Those were clear penalties. Some penalties were questionable like you mentioned, but the same thing happened for the Steelers as I said above.

The loss doesn't surprise me, but we could have let Pittsburgh at least earn it instead of handing it to them on a silver platter ;-(

Frank walker is the highest penalized secondary player in the NFL and he isn't even a starter.

I've only ever seen complaints on the boards about this guy from Day 1. Honestly, WHY did we choose to keep this guy AND play him so much? He is TERRIBLE.

Harbs insisted that he and the other coaches believe he is a good player. However, if Rolle, Webb, and Fabian were healthy, Walker would never have seen as much playing time as he has this year. Injuries put us in a tough place.

I don't mean to keep beating a dead horse but frank walker has no business playing in the NFL.He's cost us at least 3 games because of his mistakes. He did it in the first game against Cincinatti, then again against Minnesota and now today. If they don't waive him they're crazy. There's got to somebody better then him.

I REALLY think that the officiating crew for this game needs to be investigated. Some of the Phantom calls and non-calls changed the outcome of this game. The Steelers have had the refs in their pocket all year and I'm sick of it!

This wasn't even close to being the worst officiating in a Ravens game this year. Most of the calls against us were correct, the only problem was the non-calls. That is more than can be said about many games (especially Colts games this year).

The Ravens are the ones who changed this game.

They did, the refs just didn't call any holding on either team until the mcgahee td run and a couple other critical ravens' plays...

I so would have rather been blown out than to lose like this. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Ravens go to Oakland and lose it. This loss was devastating.
[/quote]
They wont lose to Oakland. They will demolish the Raiders and then walk around pounding their chests and hyping themselves up like they've won the Superbowl. The more things change the more they stay the same.

WHAT ref help????
Tell me one freaking penalty that was not right?!

The only call in this game that the Ravens can have a real gripe with is the missed PI on Heap in the endzone. Only because they had to settle for a field goal because of it. Other than that, they've got nobody to blame for this bs but themselves.

Yup, if Mason doesn't drop that pass, we more than likely win this game and clinch the 5 seed... or at least a playoff berth.

I tend to agree. We haven't lost to a posing te this year. We've actually dmolished most of them: bears, lions, browns. I honestly don't see the game being close. it'll be over at halftime. Thanks to the eagles we should be In thee playoffs period. If we get lucky and the jets lose we can still be the 5th seed. Can u imagine, 2 9-7 teams in tv playofs in the AFC??

Seriously, until this team beats Big Ben or Palmer, I can't take them seriously.

I've been trying to be optimistic, but I'm done with it. Hopefully Ozzie can make some serious changes on offense for next year.

I can hope for us to be better next year. Even if make the playoffs, its over, like I said before this game, if we can't beat the Steelers we are one and done.

Don't get too confident. Who knows if we can beat the Raiders.

Don't worry, we can and will beat the raiders, badly. I don't think we'll go far in the playoffs but at least we can say we made it there two years in a row for the first time in franchise history. I'm tellin ya with rice and flacco at the helm this is gonna be a perrenial playoff team. Let's just hope it's more like the pats and less like the chargers and eagles, LOL.

i posted earlier that the Ravens could "easily" go into Heinz Field and get the win! and from what i seen of their offensive game play....they could have! however, the dropped TD pass by Mason (surprising)....the called back INT for a TD....the called back McGahee TD run and oh yeah....ALL OF THOSE RIDICULOUS PENALTIES!!! therefore the Ravens gave the Steelers the "easy" win. smh!

yep, we pretty much gift-wrapped that one for them nicely.

Im about sick of seeing how good we "could" be. Take away half the penalties and we probably win by two touchdowns. sad, just sad

I 100% agree, and i think its also a combination of a lack of professionalism. They go out there like their only goal is to have fun. This is a business guys, and you need to get your act together.
