I was happy to hear the team signed him off the Jets' practice squad.

He isn't the next Ed Reed but he was a good player at Mississippi State. Here are some of his highlights:

Damn, the guy looks like a mountain of muscle for a 5'11" safety. Speed looks a little suspect in those highlights, but the instincts look to be on-point. We'll see how he fares if he even sees any game action, but not bad.

I'm still disappointed, because I really wanted C-mac to come back. If we got two cornerbacks we should have gotten Corey Ivy and C-mac.

wow the highlights were terrible flat footed, arm tackler, with no speed and slow play recognition.

Man, that kind of talent could make him a starter on our squad.

Looked a little hesitant and stiff. Solid tackler....which means that he is a ST guy

And to the guy above. There is nothing wrong with being an arm tackler who uses his body

Sounds to me like Fitzhugh could be an eventual replacement for Dawan Landry, who is a FA next year. They seem to have a very similar skill set from the strong safety position, more effective run stoppers than cover guys. Sounds like he's also going to be a great special teams addition. This was a very informative article: http://www.thejetsblog.com/2009/05/07/udfa-focus-keith-fitzhugh/
