What? That made no sense. My point was, even if you win, you could still end up as being lucky. Look at the Browns...... Enough said. But look at the Charges game. We let up 400 passing yards to a QB, and everyone was cool with it. Sure, we fixed it somewhat now, but before, every game was horrendous for our passing defense.

So, you would have rather lost that game against San Diego?

These AXE shampoo commercials piss me off because they never work the way they're advertised. Not that it'd matter since I don't have much hair to shampoo anyway, considering I keep my hair closely cropped or completely shaven to begin with.

I think what you're getting at is that you want every win to be a dominating one.

What I'm getting at is that winning ugly is just as good as winning pretty, because winning cures everything and no one cares how you do it as long as you do it.

What we're both getting at is that we'll agree to disagree. :)

Just as an FYI, that post wasn't directed to you, just so you know. I do understand about the ugly wins, but if we have too many ugly games, then it becomes a problem. That's what I was getting at. I had a feeling that the Chargers' game wasn't a fluke, and I was right. So, I'd half-agree with you. So long as not every game is ugly with us winning, I'm fine with a few here and there.

I wouldn't have spent the timeout if I were Chicago. If I was planning on going for it, I would take the penalty to give a little extra space, thereby giving the option to either run or pass and leave the defense guessing. The defense already stuffed the run on consecutive plays, so why would you think you can run it in again on short-yardage? Take the penalty yards, give yourself some distance, open up the playbook. Worst-case scenario is pinning the Ravens back against the endzone anyway if it's a turnover on downs.

By giving yourself those options to run or pass with space, you can also pull off a bootleg QB run for a TD or open up the play-action.

The Bears aren't really showing guts, despite going for it on 4th down.

Notice how little space Olsen had to run that fade route in the corner? Had Cutler been given more space to work with, he could've also had a receiver underneath for an easy out. But because there was no space and pressure in his face, that floater turned into an incomplete.

Also, burning the timeout could hurt later if they were looking to score before the end of the half on a two-minute drill, since the Ravens get the ball back after the half.

Agree. Chicago hurt themselves on the play call.

Though the Bears converted that first 4th-down, to go for it again at the goal line was stupid if they were stuffed on consecutive runs. Should've just taken the points, it's still a close game.
