'08 Last Year Faneca's a Steeler?

Wow, just looked at SI.com's latest edition of Truth and Rumors and saw a blurb posted from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

the Post-Gazette's article

Woah this could have an impact on the AFC North. Wow.....unhappy doesn't seem to be the word to describe his emotions! *whistling* This could prove to be most interesting.

I disagree his departure won't change the fact that the Ravens are the best AFC north team ;)

True that!

It will only make it easier for our boys to pancake Roethlisberger into the ground! :D

Faneca had so much loyalty to Cowher.

He was one of the players campaigning for Wisenhunt to become HC.

Rumor has it that he wants to go to Arizona to play for him.

Yeah, I've heard the same in conversation with a few Steelers fans I know (yes I do speak civilly to some in Pittsburgh :D). But the question is are the Steelers willing to let him go this year or wait until he's a free agent. Which would they benefit from more?

And I dare say Steve Hutchinson has set a precedent for guards to start screaming for more money. I read an article on either SI or NFL.com (can't remember which) in which the whole high-paid guard thing was discussed...

The 'what if five years down the line it's Ben Grubbs from the Ravens' line made my heart stumble.

It would be but it probably wouldn't realistically happen. The Ravens still have to sign the rookies and all that. If the Steelers aren't willing to pony up what he thinks he's worth, I doubt the Ravens will at this time either.

But I've been surprised before. :)
