Really? I was under the impression that two feet would be the absolute worst that we could expect. Now here's something even scarier to think about: if I go to the grocery store, will I make it out alive? :o
[/quote]

It probably won't go 2 feet, just saying that 12+ inches is not far fetch at all for most areas.

2 Feet sounds about right for worst, but you never know with these type of storms pulling moisture from the Atlantic.

They put a new map up I just can't figure out how to post it.

The weather.com maps are tricky to post. But here it is. They've extended the dark purple region.

They really do not have a precise number because it depends on the track of the storm. If it hugs the coast pulling moisture from the Atlantic it will dump snow on us greater than any forecast.

If the storm veers slightly off the coast, it'll still snow but to a lesser degree like 3-7 inches in the Maryland region.

I have a good friend at the weather station to say they are expected the worse. Saying it could reach blizzard standards. And 12+ inches is easily obtainable. But once again, it depends on the track.

Indeed...I'm hoping the storm tracks and makes this less than they expected or my family's get together on Sunday in western MD is going to get cancelled.

But a damn good thing I've got my car street parked where it is....right next to the driveway...that will give me ample space to dig a nice big space out Sunday.

Now they're saying a possible 20 inches up here in Northern DE -- which means Southern DE must be getting worse than expected unless it merely blows by and that area doesn't take the brunt of it.

Anyone else excited about the snow in the Baltimore/DC area. Over a foot of snow is a possibility if the storm takes the inside track.

Going to buy some new sleds and get ready.

My friend at the national weather satation says this could reach blizzard status.

I am actually kind of ticked about it. My graduation is tomorrow. I dont really want my family driving across the bridge in that crap. That is, of course, if its not canceled. I've heard CP, has canceled theirs.

I'm from Michigan and lived in North Dakota for two and a half years, I've seen worse. The only thing I'm worried about with this storm are the locals. People here can't drive in the rain much less the snow.

Some woman at the grocery store was buying EIGHT gallons of milk for her and her husband "just in case". Just in case of what? I wanted to shake her. Masochists that we are, my daughter and I went to Giant to get stuff to make a million (okay, 12 dozen) cookies. We may be snowed in but we'll eat well.

NJ. They're predicting 4-8" in my area. And a blizzard on Long Island.

We're not talking about Jonconsin, we're talking about America, Jon.

Nope, I am a nurse and have worked in healthcare since I was 18 until I became a stay at home mom, and when the rest of the world can hunker down, I'm driving in it, working 36 hrs straight on peanut butter crackers. At the end of the 36 hrs I have to dig my car and my parking spot before I can go to sleep and have to go to work again in 6hrs--so no I hate snow

People are going a little too insane out there. Like there will be no day after tommorrow. I went to Safeway a couple minutes ago to pick up some soda and it looked like a hurricane hit the store.

They were out of meat, bread, water. There were abandoned carts stuffed with crap everywhere. Trash filled all the aisles. Broken eggs on the floor. I was wondering if these people knew it's suppose to be sunny on Sunday?

And the gas station ran out of gas by house. What's the deal with filling up your car if your going to sit and hibernate for a day.

I lived in Warsaw, Poland for 3 years and seen 10 times worse. But never this level of freak out.

We had to pick up our oldest daughter from work at 11pm (gotta love retail), Bowie to Annapolis. By then it was already sticking and there were a few really nasty spots. Completely drivable though IF you have the sense to slow down. Yet there was no shortage of idiots out there speeding in cars that could not handle the conditions. Hopefully none of them killed anyone.

Right now at 1am (sick, can't sleep) we've got maybe an inch, inch and a half but it's coming down faster and thicker now. I'm pretty sure we'll have at least 4-6" by dawn.
