#1 D

Demetrius Williams

18 posts in this topic

Demetrius Williams has been surpassed by Kelley Washington as #3 receiver, with Kelley's nack for getting crucial first downs for the Ravens, as he has sat for the most of the season. The only positive we can get out of this is that he didn't get some sort of lower leg injury while warming the bench. hehe :batteur-musicien:

But seriously I think Demetrius is much more healthier this season, as he had even gained bulk @ the beginning of the season. He's shown it in some of the attempts that have been thrown to him, the chances he has been given to play. Although he's been accused for lack of effort, There's no doubt that he has the skill and athleticism to be good.

Considering Mark Clayton might not play, as well as Kelley washington with their injuries, The chance for Demetrius to play #2 receiver opposite Derrick Mason will be the chance for Demetrius to get some balls thrown his way. (i hope..) More importantly, this will be a chance for Demetrius to show he can be successful vs a non piss-pour team (lions) and contribute.

Heck, we may not even know but he might just be useful for Flacco as a weapon for the rest of this season, hopefully the postseason if we get in, as a big, fast receiver who can catch.

In short, this will be a chance for Williams to shine, and start for the first time this season. I want to know if you guys think same of Demetrius, if he can do some damage.

I agree, I've loved this guy from day one. Obviously he cant stay healthy, and thats his downfall. I would love to seem him turn into a good receiver. No knock on Clayton, or Washington but I am looking forward to seeing him play more.

He makes a nice tall target with some speed, but his history of injuries is a concern. We've all seen these guys before D-Will's not the first.I would like to see him get some PT and see what he's got.

I have wanted to see Williams healthy and in the game for a long time. If things remain the way they are now come Sunday, Williams may very well be playing the #2 role... and that is a good thing. If his surgery fixed whatever the problem with him was, I think he is exactly the kind of weapon our offense has been missing.

Unfortunately, however, I would bet that you see us primarily run the ball, and the majority of throws are likely to go Mason's way. Just a hunch.

hopefully the Bears are counting on that. If we have to keep running 2wr formations then Mason's gonna be double covered all day. Their corners arent exactly shrimpy though @ 6'1" each.

It would be nice to see him develop into someone that can stretch the field. I believe he's in the last year of his contract, so he's gonna be playing for next season, be it with the Ravens or someone else.

If Washington is out will Harper be plaing at #3?

That's what I was wondering. I would really like to see him get some playing time if we take the lead from the start like we did last week.

He has the physical skills to be special, but as people know injury prone. I'd like to see him come on strong this last few games.

ok you people keep saying injury prone ........ you need to revisit my preseason post. the injury was ongoing was not resolved for 3 seasons, because no one knew what it realy was bone spurs can cause nasty side effects and take a while to go away after surgery. so he may be about 98% better from where he was. if this is true then sunday will be special.

I'd like to see Cam utilize more 3 and 4 WR sets so we can see D-Mase, Kelley, Williams and Harper on the field at once. At that point it's pick your poison and will open up lanes for those delayed runs Cam Cam likes to run with Rice.

I really hope he displays that upside against Chi town! He has the ultimate opportunity as the #2 to show his talents and cement a starting spot

ITS GONNA BE A WILLIAMS AND HARPER DAY!!!! HARPER WILL PROVE THIS GAME HE DESERVES TO BE NO.3 RECIEVER AND NEXT YEAR IF WORKING ON HANDS HE COULD POSSIBLY BE no.1 reciever for joe, like i said in many other post, this boy has it all in a playmaking reciever, except hands, once he gets that. hes no.1 in my opinion. then williams.. i wanna see riley come up, he deserves to be up here. NEXT YEAR AWAITS, THESE 3

this team will be just fine with washington williams harper and riley. all have speed size elusiveness.. were fine with them, just let harper and riley grow more, but i dont get y harbaugh has them on the sideline and practice squad, bring them up and develop them. thank god they did it with harper, and i do believe u will see riley coming up. dont forget he was a good gunner at duke as well.
