Ravens Records

16 posts in this topic

The Baltimore Ravens set a new franchise record for most rushing touchdowns (22). The previous record was 20.

Ray Rice surpassed Jamal Lewis for second most rushing yards in a season (1339), and also became the second Raven to reach 2000 yards from scrimmage.

Derrick Mason (4,975) passed Todd Heap (4893) and became the Baltimore Ravens all time leader in receiving yards. Mason also scored 7 touchdowns which is his personal high during his tenure as a Raven.

Joe Flacco has officially tied Kyle Boller's record in wins by a Ravens quarterback (20). Flacco has also broken the all time Ravens passer rating in a single season by posting an 88.9 rating during the 2009 season. The previous record holder was Vinny Testaverde who posted an 88.7 rating in 1996.

The old post included, these stats:

"Baltimore set team records in total yardage (548) and rushing touchdowns (5). The 48 points tied the franchise mark, set in 2005 against Green Bay.

Rice reached a personal high with 219 total yards and topped the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the first time in his career. He has 1,041 yards on the ground and a team-high 68 catches for 652 yards."

Fun Fact: Todd Heap has scored 5 two point conversions. Only Terance Mathis (6) and Marshall Faulk (7) scored more 2-point conversions in an NFL career.

Heap has 32 tds in his career and Mason has 58. However, he scored only 21 of those as a Raven, so Todd still has a sizeable lead.

In case anyone missed the stats from yesterday's game, here they are:

"Baltimore set team records in total yardage (548) and rushing touchdowns (5). The 48 points tied the franchise mark, set in 2005 against Green Bay.

Derrick Mason (4,788) passed Todd Heap (4760) and became the Baltimore Ravens all time leading receiver.

Joe Flacco has unofficially tied Kyle Boller's record in wins by a Ravens quarterback (20). Two more regular season wins will make the tie official; three more, and Joe Flacco will have won more games than any Baltimore Ravens quarterback.

Thanks to the good folks at the NFL, we now know that some of the best December players are current and former Ravens.

Maybe but, to me, it didnt seem as bad as it actually was while we were going through it. If that makes sense.

Sixteen different starting quarterbacks in 14 years is very, very bad. Unless I'm mistaken, only the Miami Dolphins have gone longer without having a pro-bowl quarterback.

Interestingly, at least three of Baltimore's quarterbacks have been voted into the pro-bowl when they were with other teams.

In other news, there have been only 9 defenders in NFL history that have reached over 1,000 yards on interceptions returns. The players are: Emlen Tunnell, Lem Barney, Paul Krause, Rod Woodson, Herb Adderley, Dick Lane, Deion Sanders, Darren Sharper, and Ed Reed.
Im pretty sure McNair was supposed to be in the pro-bowl in 06 to replace an injured phillip Rivers, but he was injured himself and deferred to Vince Young. I guess he doesnt get credit for it though.

Update: Despite a subpar showing in Oakland, Joe Flacco has officially tied the franchise record for most wins by a Baltimore Ravens quarterback. He is also the only Ravens signal caller to have back to back winning seasons and playoff appearances.

With 6584 yards, Joe Flacco is also third in franchise passing yards behind Vinny Testaverde(7148) and Kyle Boller (7846). Look for him to shatter those records next year.

Not a record, but interesting fact- only 3 teams have made more playoff appearances than the Ravens in the last decade.

I look for Flacco to shatter those records and get his 4,000 yd season next year. Hopefully the Ravens help him out by picking up some WR talent.
