Zibby For Landry.

Does anyone else think Zibby should get some of Landry's snaps at SS when Reed comes back? Zibby has played well in these last 2 games and he looks pretty good in coverage. He almost got an interception diving in front of Megatron in the endzone but got a pick soon after.

i would be all for it giving him a chance to get the starting position instead of landry

dont get me wrong i like landry too but hes just not the same kind of player after the injury last year. i say they should split time at the position and the better one wins. hope the one is zibby tough

Reed isnt going to be around much longer, Zibby will get his shot. I am not in favor of benching Landry, just yet. He's improved since early in the season. I think he deserves one more shot before they just bench him.

landry is getting back to his form. he had another pick today but got taken away. the only thing he cant do is cover 1v1. and i blame that on stupid ****** mattison whos def the worse d-coordinator in the league. we just have alot of talent on this team and makes him look good.

anyway i like zibby, but landry is doing fine, yea he had ups and downs during the season. but during camp next season i would let every1 fight for safety. even ed reed, someone needs to fight against him. cuz he has def lost his mojo. hes not the same player..

Blaming Coach Mattison is getting old, fast. Wait, it has been old since week 10. I'm tired of everyone blaming Mattison, or everyone blaming the players. The fact of the matter is one is not mutually exclusive to the other. Both have been struggling on and off throughout the season. However, it's entirely too early to throw Mattison under the bus because the Ravens defense isn't the defense we've known and loved for years. If he continues to struggle next year, well hey, then maybe we're going to have to look into a replacement. Even the "amazing" Rex Ryan struggled his first year as a defensive coordinator.

But I have loved seeing Zibby play the past two weeks. He made some great interceptions. I'd have to agree with him being a good starting safety one day. But I don't think benching Landry is the answer.

Landry is alright... I like him as our safety. Zbikowski on the other hand has impressed me, he has done a great job. If Mattison is as smart as I think he is, he should create a couple packages where Reed, Landry and Zbikowski all play, and during next off season he can make a decision if he wants to keep only two starters. Maybe even Zbikowski can switch to nickel back and replace Carr... I don't know, when it comes to having two potential starters for a position, it's a matter of creativity and knowing how to use them both at what they do best.

I doubt the coaches will replace Landry with Zibby but I wouldn't be surprised if Landry is let go this off-season because of Zibby. Landry has made some plays this year but it's the missed tackles and consistent lapses in coverage that been really troubling. Zibikowski isn't a physical specimen but he's exactly the kind of tough, hard-hitting but disciplined player you want at SS.

i wasnt able to watch the game today just saw that landrys INT was called back because of an roughing the passer call, but good job of landry. kinda like landry but i want to see zibby getting the job cause i followed him since college and were glad that we picked him

i dont want reed to fight for his spot, he is just a great player. i think 5 or 6 of his picks he got in the last 5 games of the season, last year. you are maybe not recognizing him the whole season, but you notice him when the team needs him. at the end of the season and in the playoffs. i can only say "big time players, make big time plays in big time games" i think that describes reed the most

Put Landry, Nak, and Zibby in a battle and may the best man win. The others will serve as depth. You can never have to much good depth, if anyone knows that its us.

How many safeties can cover 1 on 1? If they could do so effectively on a consistant basis, wouldnt they be corners?

Hes been hurt for the past 2 weeks, which begs the question has he been playing hurt prior to the GB game, ie most likely the Pitt game. Obviously Ed isnt the same player he used to be because A) hes older he has a severe nerve impingement in his neck. Its the same argument with Ray, ya they're both not the same player they were 5 years ago....but when your the best damn player at your position and in Rays case ever, even when you slide your still better than 3/4 of the entire league at your position. Ed at 31 and 75% of his prime is better than well 3/4 of the leagues S. The only guys that are close to Ed in the entire NFC is Sharper, Atogwe, and Wilson. The only guy close to Ed in the AFC is Polamalu.

I wouldn't say give him the SS spot yet...but I most definitely wouldn't mind seeing it as a thought for next year. I really don't see us bringing Landry back next year and at the same time i don't really see us bringing in a FA safety either being that we have areas that could use an upgrade, so I would absolutely love to maybe transition zibby to SS...I mean he is just about the same size as landry and as far as I can see just as quick with the same nat for ball as anyone other DB on the team (outside of Ed)

Yeah that's pretty much what I think too. We know what Landry's ceiling is, but we dont know Zibby's yet. Let's be 100% certain that it's not a mistake before we give Landry's job away.

I felt the same way several weeks ago. But Landry has really stepped up. He leads the team in Interceptions with 4 (should have been 5 today that roughing the passer call was ridiculous) and is second in tackles hehind Ray with 71.
