Merged: Suggs Active & How He Did Threads

19 posts in this topic

According to PFT Suggs is active and will play. I dont really see the point in this unless its to give him limited snaps and get him going before we need him to play like the old Sizzle. Especially with Gaither, Clayton, and Reed out.

That kind of thinking right there is exactly how teams lose football games like this and I am glad Harbaugh isnt thinking that way. If he goes into this game with an its just the Lions attitude, WE WILL LOSE.

Clayton is injured (thigh I believe) and Gaither has had a nagging injury for most of the season.

I must say Sizzle impressed me a bit this game. He was playing hard!
My wife commented that he looked thinner; not so bloated.
Here's to hoping he does not get distracted by the sideshow that is going on in his life...assuming he is innocent as I am praying he is.

I said the same thing to my dad in the beginning of the game. Looks like he was really working on some Cardio in his time being out.

Hey guys i noticed alot in this game suggs today didnt really give any effort out there. I know he has been out a few games but alot of the day he would just stand up in the block and wait till the play was over? this bothered me considering we have guys that we could have played that would have actually tried.

If you're talking about him standing up in the middle of the field, I think he was playing contain and watching for Culpepper running up the gut. There was a lot of room in the middle behind him, but I could be wrong.

Suggs play containment???? Every down he just goes up the field and breaks containment and the QB can run all day. He is a big disappointment and waste of cap space. The best pass rusher today was Barnes hands down. He's out of shape and I'd rather have a Rob Burnett type out there who can at least contribute in the run game. Rant over now and I still like Suggs but he needs to get his a$$ in gear and dedicate himself to football.

Suggs is arguably the best run stopping 3-4 OLB and 4-3 DE in the entire league.

I hope he and his lawyers work out a quick, out-of-court settlement so he can move forward...

I liked what I saw from him today.

Agreed... and if you noticed, all of the big runs came up the middle.

Barnes did have some good speed, yet A LOT of missed tackles. Granted, he did get a sack though. ;)

I also noticed Ray had a lot of missed tackles too. :(

I didnt get to watch the first quarter, had to use gamecast but it seemed like Ray and Webb were the only guys even tackling anybody in the first half....they combined for 16 tackles for the entire game.

Its really hard to say how he did. Statistically, he didn't do that great. But that doesn't take into account adjustments the Lions offense had to do to account for Suggs if they did. I didn't notice Suggs getting double teamed. However, I did notice Kruger getting double teamed in the second half. Go figure.

One of the most uninformed first posts i've seen. I realize this is an opinion but most opinions are in part based on facts and there are plenty of facts that would say otherwise.
