Washington has out performed everyones expectations but lets not act like the guy is blowing teams away. He's being covered by nickle and dime backs he SHOULD be getting open. Its not like, he was being covered by Woodson or even the Packers 2nd or 3rd corner. In reality he was being covered by their 4th corner because their second guy is out for the season.

Something tells me even if Clayton were lined up on a nickle back he would find a way not to get open. Plus Washington has taken some big hits over the middle. I doubt Clayton would even hold on to the ball if that happen.

Harper did drop some passes in pre-season, especially some ON target passes- but we continued to go to him and let him make up for the dropped passes... and he did.

[u]In the pre-season he had 7 catches for 132 yards and 1 td, averaging 19 yards a catch. GRANTED it's pre-season, but sweet jesus those are incredibly stats.[/u]

Washington is not Clayton but its quite embarassing that Washington is averaging as many Receptions per game as Clayton and gets about 80% less opportunities
