think this may have to do with Clayton being doubtful? or maybe the have decided to see what these guys can do.

Has to do with Clayton being out and only that reason.

This probably has to do with Clayton being doubtful and the Ravens needing depth at reciever but I sure would like to see what he can do when on the field. He did ok in the pre-season and I feel he and Eron Riley are the Ravens hidden gems and I would love to see Harper and D-Will get some game time going into the end of the year with possibly Mason retiring and seeing if D-Will should be brought back or not.

I smell special teams....

Anyways, he was SO inconsistent during preseason. If he fixes his hands, that would be great, but the drops happen 2-3 times a game.

Interesting. Now if only Harper could catch the ball.

Now, lets see if Eron "Mr. Upside" Riley gets promoted in the near future

Sure, D-Will always has more than a puncher's chance of ending his season on IR.

At the beginning of the season when Marcus Smith went down, I was suprised we didnt keep Harper on the active roster. He did tend to drop quite a few balls during the pre season but he could still have been used on special teams. Just being on the field and in the game tends to give young players some confidence. His hand issues were probably more due to confidence than lack of talent. The kid can definately play. With the possibility of Clayton being out for some extended time, this will at least give others like Washington, Williams, and even Harper a few more looks at the ball come game time. I actually like Harper. He does have the speed and a little more size to him. Who knows, with a little confidence he could actually turn out to be a decent weapon for the remainder of the year.

Never heard of this guy before does any one know about him? I'm actually excited to see a new WR out there I think that is what we need. I am a fan of Kelly Washington however Mason is getting on in age, do not get me wrong he is great always has been but not what he used to be. Mark Clayton I feel we deserve better never been a fan.

Harper probably wont get too many snaps, he had too many drops in pre-season. However it would be nice to use a tall reciever. I'd rather see Eron Riley promoted.

Assuming you didn't watch much of the preseason. Harper was on practice squad. Gets open but has bricks for hands.

In just about every statistical category, Eron Riley was better than Mr. Oakland (DHB) at Duke. I'm anxious to see what he does in the off season and preseason next year, assuming he doesn't get signed somewhere else.

And they both played in the ACC against the same competition

I was big on Harper in the presason. And he was our most consistent producer in terms of getting open. But he can't catch.

Still with that being said, I would love to try to get him into some real game action. Who knows maybe he'll produce when it counts.

You won't know unless you try. Which seems to be a lingering issue with our coaches. Trying guys instead of saying they won't work.

And look how good that worked out for Mr. Davis......what a moron - 37 mil for a guy who's fast while the guy equivelant to him went undrafted!!!

Riley, Smith, and Harper intrigue me deeply. I wonder what would've happen if Smith never got injured.. would he be in the lineup or the team? Nevertheless, we have some prospects in the position and that can be good.

I don't think we will see alot of Harper unless the coaches want to see how his development has gone. If the run game is successful against Detroit, then yeah.. we'll pound the ball into submission.

I've been hoping for Eron Riley for a while now, even though he is raw as sushi

Early in the season Coach Harbaugh was slow in giving new players game experience. Hopefully the Ravens score fast and often enough to pull out a few key players to protect them from injury. Many players are not 100% and could benefit from addition rest. Flacco is one! I believe he threw far too much early in the season and is probably always at practice throwing. He’s a tremendous quarterback but someone on the team pushed him too far too soon and it may be affecting his accuracy and ability to be fresh.

Lets hope E Riley and others have a chance to prove they deserve to remain here.
