I doubt that happens. I'll be surprised if Smith is even brought back next year but considering the lack of depth at receiver, if he is brought back, he'll be kept at receiver.

I wanted the Steelers to grab Furrey in the off-season. I had no idea he could play safety though.

He's a good player to have on the roster. He played safety for the Rams in '05.

Im kind of surprised he was allowed to play DB. DBs have to wear a number between 20-49.

He made the switch just a few weeks ago.

SO is a DB converted to WR or vice versa? Im saying Im surprised he didnt have to change his number from 87 to play db

Think of Devin Hester wearing 23. Also sometimes on Hail Mary's or 3rd and real long, teams like having recievers out there to go for the jump ball because most recievers are atleast 6 1 (on other teams not the Ravens ) and taller than DBs.

The Patriots did the same thing when we played them in 2007. They put Randy Moss back there as a safety.

He's a receiver converted to a DB, back to a receiver and back to a DB.

thats just for one or two plays. I guess it depends on how your listed on the roster and what your contract states as to what position you are.

It takes years to learn the nuances, technique and muscle memory to play corner, it's probably the hardest position to play on the D.
