Browns Defeat The Steelers!

138 posts in this topic

Aaahhh!! If we beat the Packers we could have possibly finished the season 5-0 and look like another playoff run! Now we still need to win every game and have 6 teams lose. We need to play with more urgency.

you know.... this means we gotta root for pittsburgh against other AFC playoff-isque teams (i.e. Miami)

Yeah, it would be nice if the Steelers could beat the Dolphins, but after their recent performances I'm not feeling very confident in them.

Question for you guys:

If you were a Steelers Fan (I know - lol) what offensive aspect do you pin the blame on: The playcalling or the execution? Thanks.
It was definitely the execution. Did the coaches drop the balls? Did the offensive lineman's coach get run over like a squirrel on I-95? The players had better not start the "We only run the plays that are called" excuses; they have no one to blame, but themselves.

I don't mean that the Browns don't deserve credt, however. They were ballin'.

I was out last night and missed the game, so it was quite a surprise when I heard the outcome [even though it was on one of the TVs in the bar and I thought it was a replay of another game. Dang Thursday night games.] Wow. What happened to the Steelers?

Yes, it would be tragic if Ben's problems are due to the concussion and him coming back too soon because some of his teammates [Ward] gave him grief for sitting out the Ravens game. I'm not a Ben-fan, but I don't wish him brain damage as some of his teammates obviously do.

Dang, and I missed that? Everytime I start to feel bad for the Steelers, I think of that stupid smirk getting wiped off Ward's face and I just can't feel bad.

Actually, I do feel bad for Troy and Tomlin. I kind of like those guys. But not as much as I dislike Ward. I also feel bad for our friendly Steelers fans on this forum. We're barely holding onto playoff hopes, so I understand how they feel.
Lol, I don't feel bad for the Steelers at all... except for Jen. If he really is struggling from lingering concussion symptoms, that would be sad.

I can't think on any reason why Mr. "Unleash hell" deserves my sympathy nor Head and Shoulders.

This pretty much sums up how I feel:

Thank you! Too many Steelers fans are calling for Arians head. I keep having to remind them of all the sacks, poor decisions/throws by Ben and dropped passes. Plus the fact that we weren't exactly running very well either.
what's the matter? are they not familiar with bad play or something jk lol?

I think it falls on execution without a doubt. Maybe Ben isn't 100% after that concussion or maybe someone needs to step up but the bottom line is they're just not playing with the same intensity it seems they've always had.

I think Rob Ryan figured out that if you keep Ben in the pocket, circle the wagons, he makes mistakes and goes down. Ben is most dangerous out of the pocket with 3 defenders hanging off of him.

Actually, that's an excellent point. But I still put the blame on execution. Two of Ben's sacks came from him trying to run and there were other times when he should have broken out of the pocket and didn't.

Why did Mike Tomlin make a deal with the devil to unleash the Chiefs, Raiders, and Browns from the fiery pit? Why would a head coach do that?

Feels bittersweet to see the Steelers have an off year. I love to see them lose, but it makes me even more sad that we couldn't take advantage of this. This was the only team that stood in our way last year, and be rest assured the Steelers will come back strong next year.

Next year, our division will be the NFC East of the AFC. Should be fun.

Yeah, that comment by Tomlin gave me pause. Maybe he only seems likable when his team is winning. Troy still seems okay, but then, maybe that's because he isn't playing. Maybe he doesn't feel involved enough to be a jerk about it.

:plus-un2:

I know. I feel the same way. What a year for the Ravens to falter and the Bengals to play well without much in-division competion.

If you need a chuckle see this article:
I've read it twice. Makes me smile.

Humbled Steelers 'embarrassed, disappointed' by defeat...
Article->Read it

"To lose five straight after winning the Super Bowl is embarrassing," receiver Hines Ward said.

Asked about Ward's assessment, Roethlisberger said: "Good word by Hines. It's embarrassing and disappointing."

Feeling like grabbing your crying towel now... :229031_rofl:

Hey warden, have you seen the Madden roster update? at least EA still thinks your team is improving despite losing 5 in a row (in one of the easiest end of year schedules known to man)

Ahhh, the benefits of being a big market team.

The Steelers are losing for the same reasons we have been losing this year!!! It's simple both teams have always had strong running games (if not strong then they at least had a high run vs pass ratio in terms of play calling)..
This yr both the Ravens and the Steelers have spent most of the year PASSing the ball over 60% of the time (this had led to some quick offensive scores and as well as quick punts (either the defenses are back on the field quicker and for longer periods of time).. While both teams may have injuries it can not be overlooked that the defenses are being exposed in the passing game this year because they spend so much time on the field..

When you run the ball more than pass or at least have a balanced attack it shortens the game(limits the number of defensive possessions)..

It figures that this year the BENGALS are using a heavy run game(unlike years past) and now there defense is looking stronger every week, while the two traditional power running teams have been passing...

**(also note that the dolphins have 2 rookie starting corners but the dolphins control time of possession to limit the other teams number of possessions... so that there young corners don't get exposed like in the Colt game)

The Patriots also fail to use the run game to have a balanced attack (which is insane since all of there superbowl years they were a balanced team lol) now that defense shows there weaknesses...

The Steelers and Ravens are also first known to notoriously STOP the run, and neither team has done that as good as they are accustomed to.
