Browns Defeat The Steelers!

138 posts in this topic

Tomlin definitely opened up the flood gates when he made that desperate attempt to make the media get pumped for his guys. Every team they play is now "unleashing hell" on them.

I hope Mike Tomlin goes off his rocker when they lose out. I wanna see him on a Coors Light commercial! bwahhahahah

Nah--its all good. He's been here almost as long as I have under my original screen name. What better way to unite the AFCN but good old Steeler hatred?

Well that puts them out of the playoffs. Now all we need to do is win out and hope for 2 Jags losses (Indy and the Patriots). Don't blow this guys.
Now the Steelers are a spoiler team. They have nothing to lose now and what a story that would make if they knocked us out as well.

Ouch! Roethlisberger sacked 8 times. Browns QB Brady Quinn: 6-19 (31.6%) / 90 yds, completed just 1 pass in the 2nd half.
Quinn is the biggest joke of a QB. He was good in college- but he will not have a future as a starting QB in the NFL.

I expect the Browns to draft a QB this year, cut Anderson and keep Quinn as a second string.

Hard to say why honestly but as with any team games like that happen. That game however did turn into a shootout and at the end we had a chance to win.

It's not always about numbers though.. we have some terrible games stats-wise but we've been in close games as well:

Week 1 -- Hung with Minnesota and was winning midway through the 3rd quarter.

Week 4 -- Lost to the Bengals in OT.

Week 5 -- Played Buffalo tough and gave up 3 points.

Week 6 -- Hung with the Steelers midway through the 3rd quarter and lost at the end. Result of no offense.

Those are some of the examples but the basic point is that we've been in a lot of games and gotten gassed at the end and been blown out. We hung with Cincinnati and San Diego and won tonight all because we've shown a shred of offense and while it's still been below average it's been BETTER.
Now that's interesting. You guys are nearly a legit NFL team. Who knows, you might be like the Bengals next year.

I hope the rest of the league watches this film... Big Jen is not Big Jen, and that O-line is a sieve. I thought ours was bad. Wow.
Ours is bad, make no mistake. I think it's unfair that their offensive lineman don't get flagged for holding, but ours do. :(

Big Jen is joke right now. He can't lead his team down the field to win the game. It came down to a two minute drill and the Steelers could not deliver.

I laugh at him now, but it's kind of a nervous laugh because:
1. We still have to face them again with our pitiful excuse of an offense (although it can't be anyworse than Cleveland's, I hope.)
2. Ben's poor throws and his decision making (or lack thereof) could be his concussions catching up to him; and that is no laughing matter.

He looks kinda rough
That, and Ward's grinless face throughout the game were the best part. :D

did ANYONE expect this??
Well the Steelers did lose to Oakland and KC, so I thought it was possible. I just believed that the Steelers would narrowly escape with the win.

Nah, the Browns are that type of team. The Pittsburgh Steelers are still the defending World Champions. Everyone on their schedule would like a piece of them.

It also seems like each of their opponents is taking them very seriously, so even though the Steelers might truly belong in the Washington, Oakland, Seahawks discussion, no one should be caught in a trap game with them.

As bad as the Steelers look, we could still easily lose to them in 2 weeks IN Pittsburgh with the way Joe and our O-line have played as of late.

My new slogan: PLAY LIKE A BROWN

In all seriousness, did you see how physical they were with the receivers at the line? Contrast that with how soft we play up there.

I am not ready to join in on the Squeeler kicking yet, not until one condition is met; we beat the Lions this Sunday. This proves, once again, that anything is possible.

Question for you guys:

If you were a Steelers Fan (I know - lol) what offensive aspect do you pin the blame on: The playcalling or the execution? Thanks.

Execution. Roethlisberger was sacked eight times. Whether it was him holding onto the ball again, the line not doing a good job or guys not getting open, the Steelers' offense didn't execute.

Thank you! Too many Steelers fans are calling for Arians head. I keep having to remind them of all the sacks, poor decisions/throws by Ben and dropped passes. Plus the fact that we weren't exactly running very well either.

I was out last night and missed the game, so it was quite a surprise when I heard the outcome [even though it was on one of the TVs in the bar and I thought it was a replay of another game. Dang Thursday night games.] Wow. What happened to the Steelers?
There's nothing wrong with that, lol.

On a more serious note: I really hope that we are just seeing a Super Bowl slump, proof that Ben R. really is an over rated Trent Dilfer type who rode his defense, or something like that. It would be tragic if we are witnessing the effects of the multiple concussions that he has suffered.
Yes, it would be tragic if Ben's problems are due to the concussion and him coming back too soon because some of his teammates [Ward] gave him grief for sitting out the Ravens game. I'm not a Ben-fan, but I don't wish him brain damage as some of his teammates obviously do.

Dang, and I missed that? Everytime I start to feel bad for the Steelers, I think of that stupid smirk getting wiped off Ward's face and I just can't feel bad.

Actually, I do feel bad for Troy and Tomlin. I kind of like those guys. But not as much as I dislike Ward. I also feel bad for our friendly Steelers fans on this forum. We're barely holding onto playoff hopes, so I understand how they feel.

aside from them losing 5 straight, how bout the fact that they won 5 straight prior to that. is there any precedent for that? Especially from a reigning SB team.
