Daunte Culpepper Supposed To Start For The Lions

23 posts in this topic

Daunte Culpepper will start sunday according to WNST.

So if this is true, we won't get to catch the #1 overall pick this week, but instead we get the veteran Culpepper. Is this good or not if the Lions hope to upset us? Daunte does that that veteran experience that can scare you a bit, and with Calvin Johnson, that fear only gets worst. But the key to winning still rests with how our offense does against the Lions dwindling defense.

EDIT: And here is the proof http://sports.wnst.net/fb/story.asp?i=20091209225934710000101&ref=hea&tm=&src=

Culpepper is a blob in the pocket now, Stafford could move and has similiar arm strength. Stafford has been playing pretty well this year given the team hes with and what hes working with. Really the Lions beat us in this game in 2 ways. Culpepper throws the Megatron 25 times on Sunday, and Megatron catchs 20 of them and the other 5 are PIs, or our offense decides to suck a fatty again for the first 35 minutes.

OK, consider me ignorant. Who/what is Megatron? I've seen this reference before and for the life of me I don't know what it means.

Megatron is Calvin Johnson's nickname.

As for Culpepper, his experience worries me a bit but he's been very average and downright terrible at times for several years now.

Megatron= Calvin Johnson. Often referred as that because of his freakishly good attributes.

Edit: Sorry for the late addition, too many people beat me to the punch.

Are you guys crazy there is a reason why cullepepper has went to so many teams he isnt consistant
Yes but he's a good backup with veteran experience. He knows what it takes to win, but unfortunately, the Lions only have 1 weapon, and no defense.

Culpepper led them to a 0-16 record.

He was only QB for like 6 games.

considering daunte was signed half way through the season last year i think that is a bit rough.

Daunte and Megatron is a deadly combo. The lions are not going to be pushovers, especially with the way this team is playing.

Culpepper shouldn't be able to keep up with our offense. We'll score at will against their D. Culpepper wont be able to go up to 38 points.

Although I thought the same thing about the Browns Monday Night game....

As you said, Culpepper has gotten undue criticism from last year, but it's a bit of stretch to call him deadly.

As terrible as that performance was, the important thing is that we won. If our defense is able to hold this subpar team to 0 points, even our pitiful excuse of an offense will be able to score at least a field goal.

Id be surprised if the over/under was 35 points nevertheless 1 team scoring 35.

I don't blame them--Ravens D loves baby QB, and the Lions rook is pretty beat up
I don't blame them either. Their season is obviously over, and I'm sure they don't want Stafford's career to be the next to go. O

ther team's should really stop overestimating our defense. We have one more sack than Detroit's defense; what's scary about that?

What makes anyone think the Ravens pass rush could even lay a hand on Stafford if he did play?

This to me another scary game lions have nothing to loose and all to gain, culpepper needs to have a good game to be signed with another team so he is game planning like crazy he's not letting up he's trying to fight for a job. So i just hope the Ravens don't take this game likely it could be embarrasing. They need to fight and win and get into a rythum KW Please!!!! 3 headed monster Please!!!
