How do i know Williams is a better player? It showed on the field thats how!!
He drew two pass interference penalties and failed to catch a pass. Clayton caught a pass for sixteen yards, drew a PI penalty of his own and should got another if the refs weren't blind. So how did it show on the field again?

Honestly the GB game showed me that on 1 on 1 coverage Joe isnt afraid to throw to D-Will's side deep, who knows why that is but Clayton has been on the field all season and hes been left along in man coverage and hasnt had that many bombs thrown his way. Maybe it was because Tramon was playing, maybe it wasnt but D-Will gives a vertical dimension we dont have. Like height and speed combination I meant.

If he isnt getting held he catches both of those balls and without those calls we had no chance of even getting back in that game. "Clayton is garbage" quit lying to your self and admit it!!

Call me what you want. I simply stated the facts. I don't think Clayton is garbage but it's obvious Williams stretches the field better than him.

What ignorant comments have I made? And what exactly are they agreeing with you about?

You created a topic calling for this team to embrace an image that'll do more harm than good.

Harbuahg hasn't changed the image of this team at all. Even though the defense has given up big plays, it's still team's strongest unit. So what image are you talking about exactly?

And what does playing time have to do with the image of the team? Certain players aren't playing for reasons none of us know. I can guarantee it has nothing to do with image.

Keep the debate civil, people. No need to call each other out, no need for personal attacks, no need for insults.

The best rule of thumb is to take the word "you" out of your responses and keep it about the TOPIC and not each other.

Im so sick of hearing about stand up guys and playing like ravens..... No point in this year have we played like a raven the ravens i use to know were hard hitting smash mouth and didnt give a crap what anyone thought of them and thats the same mentality the coach had. As far a i can remember we have been the out casts the bad boys of the nfl....does anyone else miss that as much as i do?

The sad truth is that, that 'style' is not conducive with the rule expansions we have to date. You know a team more suitable to the description you have? Not Oakland. More like a mix of Oakland and The Giants. Sure, sure, they won a super bowl blah blah. Well we won a super bowl as well playing that style but, again, that was then and that style does not exist anymore. The football giants; alot of tough, football smart, athletic, devastating guys (especially on defense). They won a super bowl in a season which can be epitomized by their super bowl saving lucky helmet catch by David Tyree. Since then? Look at them this year. You can have amazing linemen and an all around great defense, as far as talent, by the questions are many; CAN they play together? CAN they feel trust or comradeship? Is there chemistry? And most importantly; is there a team theme, something everyone shares, the fire inside that everyone in the locker room has from different backgrounds but the same origin of motivation. The Giants are a bunch of 'slobs' who just want to go out on defense and bang stuff around. When they pre-game chatter on the field, they just scream and grunt and stuff (literally). Now i would hope you all have seen OUR pre game. Ray Lewis motivating EVERYONE, players and coaches, with a beautiful speach about OUR goal. OUR fire.

We draft and acquire guys who "play like a Raven". They have filled that role and revitalized what it MEANS to be a Raven, and if you don't see or acknowledge that then you clearly are not paying attention. Guys who have faces more adversity in life than most, and share the common struggle of MANY obstacles to get where they are. These guys are 'spiritual', like Ray, and know that being in the NFL is a gift. They go out, and they play their heart out because of said adversity. And because they share the genuine common love for this game, they want to do well for the TEAM not for themselves. This is why you see Webb sitting on the bench, waiting, and when his number is called he blows it up..shutting down, in his first game as a starter, one of the NFLs best receivers (Ward) limiting him to under 50 yards for the game. You see Kruger not even being active for 4 or 5 weeks, waiting, keeping quiet, and when his number is called he blows it up and gets a game saving interception. This is why you have a ROOKIE TACKLE, playing out of his position from college, who has shut down the likes of Dwight Freeney and Jared Allen who are in the NFLs upper echelon of pass rushers and sack leaders. THIS is what playing like a Raven is. I love shut down defense as much as anyone, it's the spine of this franchise, but this is just a bad period for our defense. It's not the end, and it's not a reason to question something so magnificant as our team philosophy. It has gotten us where we are, and it makes us who we are.

And if we WERE like the Raiders? Ok, they beat the Steelers. They also have a terrible record, have not been a serious threat to december in a long time, and as is clearly visible to any unbiased observor they have next to NO discipline. This is a recepe for failure. That is why they can have all the DHBs, Seymours, Namdis, Russells, and Huffs they want...but they will NEVER be a success until they develope DISCIPLINE. We have ALL of these things. We have things, as a unit, that maybe one or two other teams have right now, and you want to trade it in for some hard hitting defenders? I'm sorry, i can't agree with you. We have a shot, still, this year. Slim but still real. But i am telling you now that by the begining of next years season, regardless of how this one will end, you will be loving our team philosophy when we're shutting teams down like it's the year 2000. We are missing FEW peices, as a team, and even fewer on defense, to hit the point where we're going to be practically unbeatable.
