Polamalu Possibly Shut Down For Year

21 posts in this topic

"According to Alan Robinson of the Associated Press, Polamalu might not be back at all this season."

The whole article is here...

This could be good for us...clearly Pitt's defense is struggling without him and Pittsburgh to me the rest of the season is the only question mark left on our schedule.

Plus on ESPN James Walker wrote in his AFC North blog that Tomlin was toying with taking out some starters and replacing them with their second stringers, the entire secondary is mentioned. Taylor, Gay, Clark or Carter, and Timmons in the middle.

Its at the bottom.

As much as it would make things easier for the Ravens, I really don't like to see Polomalu hurt. It's so wrong watching him on the sideline in civvies.

I may hate the Steelers and fervently wish they lose every game they have left, but Troy's a stand up guy and a beast of a player. I wish him the best.

They certainly didnt feel bad when Ray was on the side-line, or Jamal... I could care less, its all apart of being paid millions of dollars to play a game.. The nFL has injuries.

In the words of another AFC North player, "Child, please."

While I'm not one of those people that feel it isn't a win unless no one is injured on the opposing team [there are always injured players], I feel bad for Troy. He's one of the few Steelers that I like. It's good for the Ravens, though. Just wish they could have capitalized on it by winning some other games, too.

This is smart for Pittsburgh because if he goes back and isn't ready he could do much more serious damage (ACL Tear), and then he would be sidelined most of next year as well. It's best to shut him down.

So good, in fact, that you don't even know how to spell his name!

I sense your post was laced with sarcasm... right?

Well we certainly didn't take advantage of this opportunity. With our luck the Bengals go on and win the Superbowl and next year the Steelers are dominant again with a healthy Polamalu.

Jason LaCanfora says Polamalu is expecting to be back for the Green Bay Packers.

Why bother at this point?

Cause Troy is a football player. He WANTS to be out there.

As much as I don't like guys getting hurt, I hope he doesn't come back at all the rest of this season. Might make game #2 a little bit easier.....maybe

Personally, I'd rather make sure that I'm fully healed so that I can play at 100 percent next year.

I hope he decides that he's achieved enough in career and that he should now devote time to being with his family. I'll settle for the rest of the season, though. :P

Yeah me too but a lot of the guys have the I-must-play mentality...macho BS if you ask me. As with the talk about concussions, sometimes they don't take the future into consideration.

Larry Fitzgerald should send a Christmas gift to Polamalu. Thanking him for taking the Madden Curse.

Season isnt over yet. There is still time for the Cardinals to choke away the division by ending the season tied with San Fran.
