What a shame...he played a good game against New England for them last week and had a decent one against the Skins.

The fact that Jabari Greer is expected to return is one thing, but the fact that they also signed Marcus McCauley after they dropped McAlister indicates that he may have been cut for health and age reasons; a team doesn't just sign a younger guy who may not see the field in lieu of keeping an experienced veteran who's already seen playing time unless there's an external factor. Again, age and health are the only things that would come to mind in this decision.

i wonder what he was cut for. I mean McCauley was cut by the Lions :o
I hope we bring him back. I hope Harbaugh gets over himself and realises this team needs depth at corner and McAlister would be a great nickel player that could help with Webb's progress. However it is very unlikely we would bring him in although i hope we do cause i always have and always will love Chris McAlister

He wins them the game, so they cut him.

probably a money thing too. Im sure McAlister's minimum is a lot higher than macauleys. Must be nice to show up for two games and collect a couple of 6 figure checks.

What I read on a PFT comment by a Saints fan actually holds some weight, granted it was a fan but it was pretty insightful. Here's my best paraphrase. The fan claimed that because Greer was coming back and their other corner was getting healthy that moved C-Mac to the dime position which is a position you need a guy to play STs for. C-Mac doesnt play ST's so him holding an active roster spot each Sunday while not starting and not contributing on ST's made his roster spot dead weight in essence.

It made sense to me at the time, if that was C-Mac's last play in the NFL im upset the ref didnt let it play out and see C-Mac waltzing into the endzone for a game winning play one last time. Boy would that have been sweet.

even still, a forced fumble and fumble recovery on a 12-0 team is a nice way to shut things down. He should get a ring if they win the SB.

thats good and all, but for playing in what, 2 games? if anyone would deserve a ring if their old team wins the Superbowl is Brian Dawkins.... he gave them so much, and they treat him dirty like that

I say bring back C-Mac and see what he can do... I mean, come on, he's MUCH better than Frank "I play DB like I am using a" Walker and Chris Carr.
