Purple Punishment

Demetrius Williams

We can't get off the dime offensively in the first half. We need to change it up. Dwill is explosive or at least has the potential. You'll never know til you try. Perfect opportunity for Clayton to heal up his leg and put a deep threat in there along with Kwash and Mason. Demetrius' speed created 2 perfect scoring opportunities for us.

you know what the scary part is. Had that play been designed for williams to fake to the left with all the other receivers and intentionally break it off and fly to the other side of the end zone Joe could have lofted it up and it would have been an easy TD. i didnt like the call to begin with. You get the whole defense flowing to one side and no misdirection or dumpoff, thats a disaster waiting to happen. The problem arose when the loophole of that play was not executed: The QB is running out of the pocket so if no ones open you're supposed to throw it AWAY.

Williams needs to play more. I am not sure that Williams and Washington want to be on the field more than Clayton but its clear that Mason's demeanor isnt the same. He's not having fun anymore, whether he retires or not its time to move on. I would like to see Williams and Washington on the outside with Clayton in the slot.

The thing I liked seeing the most from Dwill is seeing him actually get down field and fight to get the ball while the CB was all over him and actually having the best shot at coming down with it. Mason and Clayton are to short to win a battle like that. Washington seems more like a really big possession reciever, than a guy that win deep jump balls.

IF this team even still has a shot or wants to make the playoffs, Williams is also a stratigical advantage. Its kind of like what the Steelers had over us with Dennis Dixon. He hasnt played and there isnt a whole lot of recent tape on him, so nobody except our coaching staff really knows what he's capable of and how he'll be used.

Demetrius Williams should see more time because he seems to be the only receiver on the team with the speed to consistently stretch the field and size to go up and make tough grabs. However, the offense line definitely has to start playing better. They protected Flacco exceptionally well against Indy but have put together back-to-back sub-par performances against the Steelers and Packers. They're young and will improve but if this offense is get back on track this year, the o-line needs to shape up.

I'm pretty sure there is a good reason why he doesnt start
One would proabably being his skinny toothpick arms are of no use in run blocking

he could barely bring down the CB who picked off the ball in the endzone. But if he can get open and catch the ball who cares if hes not the most physical WR.

Too bad the Harbs and Cam will only probably realize this now after the season is about 80% complete, and D-Will is probably gonna be noticed by another team that would give him a chance seeing as he will hit free agency...

Actually, if I remember correctly, he wasnt trying to tackle him. He was trying to keep him up so he could strip the ball.

Definitely need to see some changes. Sad that it takes this long to change some things around.....

I think the Ravens leadership like myself thought "we are who wo we think we are." 14 Weeks in and I'd say "were not who we once were."

This is correct, I think he was as surprised as I was about how long of an opportunity he was given to strip the ball in the endzone, and it also looked as the GB CB wanted to run it out of the endzone. So rather than tackling him in the endzone D-Will tried to strip it and would have brought him down a lot faster if he would have made it out of the endzone.

The annoying thing is that it's been that way all year. I don't think this coaching staff is as bad people think but there have been far too many times where talented players were left on the bench for whatever reason.
