I request that to keep our players safe, the Refs start <using better protection> during our games. If the NFL isn't careful someones going to catch someting on the Ravens team.

The calls went both ways. You could argue there were too many flags called, but really it was just uber sloppy play on both sides. Every pi call was accurate, although there were actually some missed ones.

For the most part the refs were neutral. They missed a P.I. call and called a phantom on Foxworth. What game is there that a missed holding call is present. Other than that the calls were ok.

Again... quote from a chick friend while watching MNF:

"Why the HATE-ON for Baltimore? It seems like someone slept with a refs wife, and it's payback time... Does Tiger play for the Ravens too?"

I lost it. The game was pretty crap. Lot o penalties. Quite poopy. I'm just surprised nobody was injured by a thrown flag tonight. Those things are dangerous.

I thought most of the calls were good but that PI on Derick Mason was complete crap and so was the Fumble on Ryan Grant... how in the hell can you overturn that call there is not enough evidence to plain and simple they said screw the Ravens go Packers and Vince Lambardi!!

I guess it was a Flag Monday Night Football !!!
To give refs some credit, I think they called 10 PI penalties, the one on Foxworth was bogus call, and they missed one on Packers, and one on Ravens.
Frank Walker and Packers #38 should shake hands together, they really stole the spotlight, unfortunatelly Packers #38 made-up for his mistakes when he made game winning INT in red zone, Walker made no positive play, period.

Pass Inteference Penalty is the worst penalty in football.
Since NFL changed this rule to help so called "passing game", it just became evident that this is the worst peanlty in football.
1) Illegal hit, Low block, Facemask, Helmet to Helmet hit
all these penalties cost your team maximum 15 yards. Even Spitting on the player - 15 yard penalty
2) PI penalty - you can barely touch, or brush by, or tangle your feet, or fall down on the WR, and your team could be penalized 50+ yards and automatic 1st down
How bizarre. One foul, that did or didn't happened, will decide outcome of the game. It's hard to be a cornerback in NFL. Rule will have to change and I have a solution.

I still think that Oglesby would have been better than Frank Walker. The intensity I saw from Oglesby in the 4th preseason game left me feeling he should have been the guy.

The penalties in this game were just bad. A lot of them just. Most of them not. They should have let that Derrick Mason play go. They were calling all the ticky tacky stuff on us, but only half of the ticky tacky calls on them.

I'm not making excuses our secondary is bad. They can't play coverage at all. They get burned every single time. It's just a question of whether or not we can get pressure.

I think this game, on national tv, may be the straw that breaks the Camel's back and forces the NFL to adopt the college rule in PI. Granted it gives an edge to the defense, who can pretty much maul the WR if he has an obvious TD catch opportunity, knowing it will only be a 15-yarder(and we know how much the NFL is promoting offense). But last night was just ridiculous and every single one of those calls was legit and in fact, there were two that they missed. One on us, and one on them.

I think it was the officiating crew working last night that was the problem. They were very ticky tacky with their calls and were consistant both ways. Most calls I can agree on but some they could of let the guys play football. (example the call on Mason)

Should have seen this coming since Green Bay and Baltimore are 1 and 2 in penalties.

You know what's weird. Is that I did see this coming. And if you would have told me this before the game, I wouldn't have been surprised.

But to watch it actually happen, seem to amaze me.

With two corners injured, sadly, this team actually NEEDS Frank Walker for the rest year. However, I will seriously begin to question the entire organization if Frank is on this roster next year. Every time I've heard Harbaugh answer a question on Frank, he's brought up the AFC Championship game last year where Walker supposedly had a good game. Whether he did or not, Walker should not be on an NFL roster. It doesn't matter if he's playing nickel, dime or on the outside, he can't help himself from putting his hands on the receiver. People will say he plays special teams but I've seen him draw penalties there too.

As for the penalties, what amazed me was how many non-calls there were too. I can remember at least twice where Barnes was basically tackle to the ground and everyone saw Clayton get his arm pinned by Tramon Williams.

At the rate these NFL Officiating crews are screwing teams over, the competition committee needs to take a serious look at allowing certain penalties such as Face-masking, Horse Collar, and Pass Interference to be subject to Coach's challenges. There are way too many blown calls and non-calls, and it's time that the refs were put under a more powerful microscope. They stink, and that's putting it nicely.

the refs are pretty ridiculous too many pass interference calls. It isnt pass interference if you touch the other players c'mon refs.Although they were consistent with the 500 penalties called last night.

IMO every single penalty was justified and the refs were right to throw them.

If was a playoff contention game, it's going to be dirty, messy and will have people trying to get an advantage every which way possible. It's how the game is played.

Totally agree about the call on Mason. That said, Mason put himself in a position to get flagged because he put his hand on the CB. Obviously, Mason didn't push him just the guys mementum carried him forward. Unfortunately, by Mason putting his hand where it didn't need to be opened up the chance of a call. The way the officials were calling the game Mason should have kept his hands to himself.

Overall though I thought most of the PI calls were warranted. Especially on the Packer corner (not Woodson) because each and every time he arm barred our reciever. Someone needs to tell that guy that only Raven CB do that sort of thing. haha

come on man, thats not why we lost...our defense was playing great in the first few drives of the game, but then our offense fell apart after Rice's fumble, and Flacco's throw into quadruple coverage on the flea flicker. sure there were missed calls (arm bar on clayton in the end zone) and the phantom calls, but for the most part calls went both ways. our problem, once again, was the inability to score points in the redzone. isn't mcgahee supposed to be a power back? run over charles woodson for one yard!!! dont bounce outside and lose 3! and flacco NEEDS to be smarter and not throw picks in the redzone and come of the field with this shocked look on his face, he is cutler-ing all over the place

Calling a lot of penalties on two sloppy teams is hardly getting screwed over. Both teams were awful in that dept. and the refs certainly didn't show any bias, calling PI on Woodson and twice more on plays in the endzone to set the Ravens up at the 1. There have been some bad calls this season but the majority of them are right on and extend from the face that some players at key positions are not that good.
