Ed Reed

Is Reed the Ultimate Football Player? The answer is yes. On ESPN, that was almost all Tom Brady was talking about.

I think they are trying to butter him up to get him to play for them but if they where smart they would go for Landry.

Reed isnt going anywhere. Landry is the only one they have a shot at. I think they have a lot of respect for Ed Reed. Manning had really high praise for him when we played them a few years back. We have only played the Pats once since Reed was drafted, I believe. He's having a great year and hopefully Brady forgets that and throws the ball his way a few times. Or tries to avoid number 20 and make the mistake of throwing at 21 :D:D

Or he throws to 26, Landry is due for a pick. He has dropped a few already this season. I am a firm believer that when our secondary is healthy there is not one team that has a better one. Remember the probowl AFC secondary of Reed, McCallister, and Baily - OMG was that unfair to the NFC.

One of the few times I've liked watching a Brady news clipping was when he said "I think Bill wants to adopt Ed...make him Ed Belichick" (paraphrased).

Pretty cool to see one of our guys get praised so much, and still know he's not going anywhere. I think he's signed through 2011, and there's no way the team would trade him.

yuppers...you are correct....he signed an extension this past off-season or last off-season and we have him locked up through 2011.

No, i do not think that the Patriots Need Every possible play-maker in the NFL today....if that would happen then i think ALOT fo people on here and around the League will have something to say about that....let some of the other teams have some playmakers and quit being "Hog's"

And Ed Reed is alot like Ray Lewis, he bleeds purple and both of them will be involved with this organization long after they retire. The only way ties between them and this organization will be cut is if the organization cuts them, kind of like we did with Jamal. Jamal would have come back after we cut him, in fact he wanted to.

i feel like Reed and Ray will continue to be drving force's on the defensive side of the football because not only are they Play-makers...but both of them are also Leaders on defense and are High Motivators........you cant tell that IF you were out on the field playing alongside Reed and Ray.....your game wouldnt be elevated to a higher level and you cant tell that if you were on the same field as them, playing alongside them. That wouldnt give the little added extra motivation player 's need to play at the top of their game.

i don't think ed reed would go away, he and ray are like brothers and i don't think he'll leave just for a bigger contract,

i mean he isn't earning that few here

But you see, football is a great big business...I mean he is earning a lot of money for a safety, and rightfully so. But other teams would be willing to spend even more than us on reed. I mean Reed likes this organization, but he will probably go for a team with a lot of money if and when he becomes a free agent. AD was in a similar situation. he stated that he would like to remain a Baltimore Raven, but he saw that there was more money in the pats organization.

Jamal Should have retired as a Raven! It sucks he waited til now to have a great season.

Yeah, it took a trade for him to acutally haul [butt] and lose poundage...thats the main reason for his success, now he has some valuable speed he lacked for years.

jamal to me doesnt seem like he's having a GOOD season, he's just having an "eh ok" kind of season.....

look at McGahee's stats thus far as compared to Jamal....

[profanity deleted] Att Att/G Yds Avg Yds/G TD Lng 1st 1st% 20+ 40+ FUM

McGahee: RB 213 19.4 910 4.3 82.7 6 46T 41 19.2 5 1 3

[profanity deleted] Att Att/G Yds Avg Yds/G TD Lng 1st 1st% 20+ 40+ FUM

Jamal: RB 181 18.1 741 4.1 74.1 8 66T 31 17.1 5 2 4

Seems to me...McGahee is the all around better athlete than Jamal has been thus far this season.

Adalius and Ed are/were in very different situations. It wasnt just about money. Adalius wanted to, as lance briggs so eloquently put it, 'be the man' . In baltimore, he was probably seen as the third/fourth best linebacker.

In NE, he is the man, he plays inside linebacker (according to the pro bowl ballot) and he is the best backer there, or atleast he will be in a couple years.

Ed reed is the man here and everyone knows it, even ray on some level.

Oh ok thanks for the clarification

I never knew that AD wanted to be "the man" on a team. Maybe thats why he was talking of the ravens being a star-studded team..

lol maybe.....and maybe thats what he meant when he said that the patriots defense and the guys there dont bring attention to themselves....maybe and maybe he wants to be in "center" piece of attention......but its not like the patriots dont have the "stars" on their team.....they all may not say it out loud, and even may not talk about it at all...but internally you bet anything, that they are glouting to no end and whatever else. they just dont show it what so ever because Billicheck gives them heavy doses of that "humble" pie.

Doubtful. More than likely they are attempting to boost his ego as to possibly get him to play at a level lower than he is cause he'll be thinking they won't challenge him as much.

yea, i know better as to think Reed and the other players falling for the "buttering" up trick....aka Kissing A** lol. There's no possible way in the world that Reed Will have a decrease in his overall performance due to the Patriots warming up to him. no way in hell <_< Reed probably thinks its nice to think that they think that way about him and in return will keep knocking people on their rear ends.....as a special thank you...

That's pretty ironic considering how much Adalius was harping on the "non-spotlight" nature of NE earlier.

Not saying you're wrong--I think that's pretty insightful, but still ironic.

yea.........and how he was making comments (non of which were Good) about our "star studded" defense....hmmmm let me just ask him.........."AD.......then what the heck do you call the patriots?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!"....its ludacris

Thats why alot of our line backers usually want out. They feel overshadowed by Ray Lewis. Thats the same reason why Hartwell left.

I think there just saying that because they plan on abusing him, he's been a big reason for the secondary getting torched. He wants to free lance way too much and I think the Patriots are going to exploit that tonight, or at least hope they can. Maybe someone has had a talk with Ed and explained to him that he can't win the game by himself. Ed's a great player but I think he wants to be the MVP every year and tries to do too much. He would have a better season if he would just play within the system and let the big plays come to him.

I'd love to see an Ed Reed touchdown tonight.

Yeah...definately. But I'd really like to see a Landry interception. not a lot of people have been giving him enough love, and if he acutally does get an interception, then they would recognize his stats and recognize him as a great player.
