Jamal Lewis Placed On IR, Ending His Career

NFL.com reports that Jamal Lewis will be placed on Injury Reserve by the Browns today, due to an undisclosed head injury, ending his season, and his career since he announced his intent to retire at the end of this season.

I know Lewis left with a concussion against the Bengals, but I didn't foresee that as being a season ending injury. I suppose he just wants this season over with, after all, it's his worst season in his career, only around 500 yards and no touchdowns. It's sad to see his career end on such a note. Not only as a Brown, but on such a dismal season.

Jamal was dead to me when he joined the Browns, but I still have love for him now that his time with Cleveland is coming to a close. It's just too bad that he physically couldn't give it another go in purple, even though we don't necessarily need him.

Jamal was great for us. Not only because we share the same name , but he was extremely fun to watch in his prime.

I think his case could definately be debated for the ring of honor. He was a force to be reckoned with in his prime,and I'm proud that it was here in baltimore
