I think the Ravens have lost two heartbreakers this year. I hope we beat you guys but I do wish you guys could have those games against Minn and NE back. You had the Vikings on the ropes and the Pats too. You guys have a good team with Flacco and you should be good for years to come.

Packfan,

Thanks for the well wishes and encouragemnt.
I love when fans of opposing teams visit and are cool like you.

I have not seen the Packers play at all this season so I have no clue what to expect.
That said I have seen every Ravens game this season and I still have no clue what to expect.

Here is to a fair, safe, zero controversy game.

Stop by often. :)

The Packers are a much better team than their record indicates, with consistency being their only big issue. Injuries are now starting to mount for Green Bay, but their depth is underrated. They've got a decent corps of linebackers, led by one of the most underrated ILB's in the game in Nick Barnett. On the defensive line, B.J. Raji is starting to come into his own while Ryan Pickett and Cullen Jenkins just look like mammoth-sized clogs. Not in the vein of a Tony Siragusa of course, but still big. Charles Woodson is even more dangerous at safety than he was at corner, and Atari Bigby (when healthy) has been like their version of Dawan Landry.

Offensively, the Pack have had issues with the O-line, but have played well when Aaron Rodgers has remained upright. Rodgers had a phenomenal season last year in his first year as the full-time starter, but he can't make plays if he's constantly on the run or lying on his back. Ryan Grant is picking up steam again after struggling a bit for part of last season, and Brandon Jackson isn't much of a drop-off in talent behind him. Ahman Green recently made his return to Green Bay and is essentially there for veteran leadership but hasn't been much of a factor in limited action. The receiving corps is talented but still blessed to have Rodgers delivering them the ball. The same can be said for Donald Lee, who is a decent TE but works better when he's running in space than in tighter coverage; I haven't seen him jump for too many balls or catch anything in a tight window yet. The underrated factor that many will overlook is the talent of FB John Kuhn, who is not only a great lead blocker, but a decent receiver and ballcarrier in his own right; the man bowls over people, similar to Lorenzo Neal.

It should be a great game with weather definitely being the x-factor for both teams; though Green Bay is used to cold-weather situations, the comforts of home may work against them if they do not take an early lead. The Ravens are comfortable now playing from behind (having taken the lead numerous times after a deficit), but operate full-throttle when they draw first-blood instead or build a quick lead. Time will be a factor, as the temperatures will wear on players from both teams. Breathing in cold air is difficult when you're winded, and the numbing of hands will make it difficult to grip the football. Additionally, the ball itself will swell from the cold temperatures, making it hard as a rock, both difficult to throw and catch.

It'll be interesting to see if the weather works in favor of the Ravens, as the conditions may force the Packers to run the ball more; if that's the case, it takes pressure off the much-maligned secondary and gives Baltimore a fighting chance on defense. Conversely, it'll be fun to see Flacco deal with the worst conditions of his professional career and whether the Ravens' three-headed monster will make a return again after it was teased in last week's game against the Steelers.

Great info. I have not seen the pack play this year.

Question; Would not the ball have less pressure due to the cold just as tire pressure increases as temps increase? I could see the leather becoming harder though.........

My best friend's a Packers fan, but he doesn't always make the effort to watch the games, so I sometimes keep track of the team for him. Weird, I know. lol.

And crap, you're right, that was a slight mistake on my part; it's actually the feel of the ball, not the pressure. Big oversight on my part. The thing is, though, it's still difficult to grip the ball because of numbness in your extremities, making the delivery sloppy at times and making the ball difficult to catch. I actually wanna research this a little more now since I've been saying this entire time that the ball swells because of an increase in pressure...my bad!

That sounds vaguely familiar...

Aren't we somewhere in the ball park of 0-4, 1-4 when we're behing in the first half?

The tackling in the last game made me wonder about that... If they pass, I'm hoping that Rodgers' lack of familiary with Ed Reed will work in our favor. :P

I think the Pack will win this one. Aaron Rodgers is too good and we lack a pass rush and a secondary. Hopefully Ozzie and Harbaugh will realize this during the offseason.

Yes, but I'm speaking specifically to how often we've responded when we've given up the first score with a score of our own. Naturally, we want to be leading at halftime, but it's not as if we haven't remained in the ballgame in the fourth quarter. Before, it used to be the death knell of the team if they gave up the first score because the offense would never respond; now, the offense has been able to march down the field and re-take the lead.

I am worried about this one as a Packer fan. If you guys win or lose you really should win out the rest of the year. You have Oakland, Chicago and Detroit.
Yea i really think we win this one no disrespect towards you but pitt is our hardest game left i just think we get to rogers all night in this one our D against your O line isnt looking like a very promising match up

I hope your wrong but I dont know. You guys have just as much of a shot as us. I dont have anything against Baltimore. I have followed you guys for a long time. Last year you had a great run toward the super bowl. The Packers have been stressful to watch this year. The Bucs game was heartbreaking but beating the Cowboys was unexpected. We almost blew a 20 point halftime lead against the Niners holding on to win 30-24. I expect a close game.

That sounds a lot like Frank Walker. I can't imagine seeing him in another team's uniform and hearing people say that he's good.

I remember many games when I used to route for the Eagles where Al cost us the game because of a dumb PI call. The guy has only one talent and that is to grow long dreads. Good riddance. :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

You too!

I have to say, I have a lot of respect for the Packers organization and their fans. I've never met a Packers fan that wasn't a stand up person. One of the few fields you can wear your team colors in and not be yelled at or insulted.

Packers fans are some of the best and always fun to go to games with.
Yes. They are typically very knowledgeable to football too.
They are a 180 from steelers fans.

Well lets shoot for .500 at Lambeau!

This game is going to be a real test but I think we can pull out the W if we keep Rodgers in the pocket and keep a decent amount of pressure on him
We should do that if we mix up the packages and blitz from different angles. Maybe it's me but our defense has not done the job keeping QB's guessing where we are coming from and that has been one of the problems this season. Pressure is what keeps QB's from hitting their receivers on the deep route that's why I don't blame our secondary 100%. My main focus is hitting all of our wide receivers because if we can do that we definitely will have ourselves a WIN!!!

The blitzing has been coming from different angles lately, it's just a matter of executing. The players aren't fully doing that; that's why Dennis Dixon had so much time to throw this past Sunday. That'll have to change if Aaron Rodgers is to be rendered ineffective on Monday.

I watched the way the Vikings played against the Ravens and that makes me feel a little better. Minnesota has played conservative with the lead in games and they almost blew the 49ers game, Ravens game and both games against us. They had a 24-3 lead in Lambeau against us and we made it 31-26. They had a 30-10 lead against the Ravens and almost blew that one. I think the Packers should look at how Favre did against the Ravens and go from there.
