If Rice Isnt Voted Into The Pro Bowl...

48 posts in this topic

When I vote on the Pro Bowl, I don't "just pick" Ravens, I pick the players from all the teams I think have performed and deserve it.

That said, I voted few times a couple of weeks ago. For the AFC's running backs, I picked Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew, and Mr. Ray Rice. I seriously don't know how those three will not be the guys representing the position for our conference, especially if all three play in the final 5 games. The only other guys in the AFC who could even logically merit a vote (disregarding those that just vote for their teams) would be Ricky Williams and Cedric Benson (who has now missed 2 games), but they have not been quite as impressive as Johnson, Mo-Jo, and Ray to me anyway.

He's like westbrook over there in philly.

lets hope he doesn't get injured as much, with that said I'd rather want to compare him to Jones-Drew

Yeah, Chris Johnson is running away with it right now. :rimshot:

MJD has nearly as many total yards and is crushing Rice in # of TDs, thanks to McGahee. Even AP is significantly ahead of Rice right now.

It's hard to believe with how good Rice has been playing, but I doubt he'll get the nod if these trends continue.

Right now he is certainly the MVP of the Ravens though ...

If only Rice started from week 1!

Chris Johnson is a lock, and could very well win MVP honors, although I think Peyton Manning could swipe another one.

The MVP award is a joke in my opinion. Rather than REALLY take a look at the most valuable players on various teams, the voters simply look at the players with the best statistics on the best teams. Those guys are usually QBs and that's why they seemingly get the award every year.

To me, Rice is as MVP-worthy as C.J. The Ravens' offense has trouble moving the ball at times even with Rice, where would they be without him?

Well it does go both ways, but it's ALWAYS been about numbers. Don't tell me about carrying a team. You think the Vikings are 10-1 with sage rosenfels? You think the titans rattle off 5 in a row with lendale white running the ball all the time? If were talking strictly about what a single players presence has done for a team regardless of stats then vince young is running away with this thing ;)

What are the chances of another co-MVP split a la manning/mcnair. It could happen with what favre and manning are doing.

I'm driving to Florida to protest. Over 1400 yards in a mere 11 games, second only to Chis Johnson. Easily made another point today, averaging an impressive 4.6 YPC against the best Rush Defense, which also allows the least YPC per game. I've been a fan of his since the Week 9 Cleveland game last year and hasnt disappointed since. I still cant figure out a weakness. Heart and soul of our Offense.

Rice WILL be voted into the Pro Bowl for 2010, but don't get your danders up to see him actually play, because the

Ravens WILL BE PLAYING IN THE SUPER BOWL THE VERY NEXT WEEK AT THE SAME STADIUM!!!!!!

Rice definitely deserves to go to the Pro Bowl. As well as Chris Johnson and MJD have played this year, you could easily make the case that Ray has meant more to the Ravens than any of those guys to their teams.

idk if you could do it easily vs chris johnson the kid is extremely beast... or maybe I didn't understand what was typed

I agree with the first bold part... but I disagree with the 2nd part... yes Ray Rice has been freaking awesome for us... but not MVP worthy when you look at the likes of Chris Johnson... or even VY for that matter.... as much as I am a Ravens fan.... if the titans make the playoffs some how some way... and Johnson doesn't get MVP..... there better be some changing to the MVP voting.. hell even VY

Its a good thing public voting is weighted and only makes up 1/3 of the total. If other teams defenders and coaching staff believe he deserves it then he will get a spot.

Either way it's overrated, Id rather see how many All-Pro votes he gets.

Even still, Pro-bowl voting isnt as bad as mlb all-star voting. OMG that system is horrendous, so many great players get shafted in favor of okay has-beens.
