What Bengals Fans Think Of The Ravens
Bengals vs. Ravens afterthoughts?

3 words: Same old Ravens.

Huge win! 4-0 in the division is huge, especially with the Ravens and Squeelers having to play twice. Its official, Carson and Chad own the Ravens. Wasn't that ***** Ray Lewis talking crap about CedBen, and the fact he couldn't run on them again...

You know what else - they realise, and hopefully some hesitant Bengals fans too, that this isn't a blip. This is a genuine shift in the balance of power. We didn't beat them, we sexually molested them in the trenches in both games. The scores in these two games don't adequately reflect how badly they were violated by our O-line and D-line this yr.

That's not a blip or luck. That's the Bengals being a better football team than the Cravens. No amount of strutting or ridiculously bad dancing and screaming like an autistic child having an episode will change that. Real work in the draft, FA and practice fields will be the only remedy and that must be a really sucky thought. So wipe as much axle grease as you like under your bug eyes Ray because next yr, this Bengals team is even better and you'll most likely be out of the league.

I expected them to beat the Ravens. Ray dances. OOO Scarey.
Bengal Zone
Ray Lewis is a dip***t, period. He keeps complaining about refs when they are clearly penalties. I don't care what Chad says or how much he defends Ray, he hit him way too late and he was as defenseless as I have ever seen. He had time to go up the ball goes past him then look down at Ray and watch the hit coming. You think if Chad thought that was legal he would've got up mad like he did. Your first reaction is usually the right one.

WhoDey! Go kill you some Ravens.

I've always thought Ray was a bit overrated. He's a great leader for his team, no doubt, but c'mon. If you're as good as you say you are and people think you are, why do you need to lobby a team to get a couple of fatties in front of you so you don't get blocked? That's always bothered me. If he's that good, why should he need the help? He should be able to shed the blocks and make the tackle.
They had a lot to say about the Steelers too.

Anyway, they don't strike me as any more classy or respectful than anyone else.....as we are being led to believe.

Wow, that's some real class on display right there over at BengalsZone.

I like how they talk about "real work" that needs to be done in the draft by the Ravens, when Ozzie Newsome is one of the best (if not the absolute best) at what he does. I also like how they "expected" to beat the Ravens, when they definitely couldn't say the same last year. I also like how the hit on Chad was "late;" I had no idea a split-second after the ball was dropped was considered "late." And how can any middle linebacker get to a running back if the guys in front of him aren't taking on blockers? Isn't that one of the strategic points of defensive football in the front four? Or have they never played football nor studied its finer points?

I'm not speaking to all Bengals fans, but the ones over there should enjoy their team's run while it lasts. They're talking like their team has done it for years. One season's success does not a dynasty make...

I think we've already acknowledged in another thread that there are jerks and good people in every fandom - even the Ravens'. And given that, I expect there to be even more animosity between fandoms that compete in the same division. Frankly, I'm more impressed that opposing fans, such as you, can see a rivalry as something to be relished, enjoyed, and debated amicably.

Were those the cream of the crop? Because seriously, my sixteen year old daughter trash talks better.

Absolutely the Bengals are having a good year. But they still need to realize that for them, a good year is a singular event. They're not quite to the upper half of this division.

You are correct. Two seasons out of a decade does not a dynasty make. The other years they finished at or below 500. A little humilty and respect is definitely in order. I don't really visit any Bengals discussion board so I can not say what is going on over there. The only times I have been there I could never get honest football debate. You always get the homies who can not see the real picture. They look through rose colored glasses at their team. I prefer to be objective and discuss the strengths and shortcomings of the team. So I come to other teams boards to get honest discussion. I will apologize for these fans who are speaking disrepectfully. They do not represent Bengals fans as a whole. As it was said earier, every team has there wacko fans. Just some teams have more of them than others. Who they are does not need to be stated. The whole NFL knows.

Some teams have more fans than others, so naturally the 10% will involve more knucklehead fans for Pittsburgh than it will for Cincy. Although, there's still that chance that I'm wrong. It very well could be that Cincy has more idiot fans than any other team in the NFL. Of all the Cincy fans I've ever interacted with (20 or so), I still have a high opinion of about 2-3 of them. Not a very good ratio and I'm a fairly generous, easy going person.

No worries.

One thing about this forum I haven't really seen anywhere else is even fans from rival teams can have a civilized discussion most of the time. Yeah we get trolls but they never stay. The ones who have stayed, while we may disagree, have pretty much been positive additions to the mix.

I don't know about that. O'sullivan is a pretty good back up. We got a pretty decent O-Line and D-line, aggressive defense, fair to good running game, and good receiving corps. But yes Carson is a big part of it. Everything was built around him. But if something should happen to Carson in the stretch run, or the playoff if the Bengals make it, I would feel comfortable with O'Sullivan taking the reins. It is not like 05 where we had to rely on Kitna when Carson took the [s]cheap[/s]shot to the knee.

Without Carson Palmer the Bengals are nothing.

Besides, Cincinnati is a boring city. Been there, done that.

O'Sullivan was dubbed J.T. O'Turnover when he was the 49'ers starting QB.

Child you have to remember that to the NFL it is simply not possible for a steeler to commit a cheap shot.

Palmer takes a hit the knee that everybody thought was cheap and then NEXT year that hit is illegal.

Sliding Hiney Ward blindsides players 20 yards away from a play, is voted the dirtiest player by his peers and then NEXT year that type of hit is illegal.

See there were no illegal hits committed by the stillers

Given the Steeler's recent domonence of the Raides (ooooops make that lose to the raiders) I would give thought to putting a hold on this statement. I see the Revens losing to the Raiders in the final week with their very slim playoff hopes on the line. Hope it does not play out that way but we have seen strangers things week in and week out this year. Keep the faith guys. Still a lot of football left to played. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

IF the Bengals are lucky enough to make it out of the WC round, I do not see them winning in the Divisional Round. IMO, they are only slightly less crappy this year than the rest of the division.

Yea, I believe most of us are a little worried about that game now. It's looking like Oakland might be an "AFC North killer" this year. Maybe we'll get lucky and Gradkowski will get hurt and they'll have to play Russell! :P

I think the Colts can win. Who'll beat them? I want to see and Undefeated Colts team and an Undefeated Saints team in the SB...., with the Saints winning it all.

I don't know about the Chargers.

I think the Stars are aligned for Phillip Rivers.
Eli Manning wins SB
Big Ben wins SB

Phillip Rivers is one of my favorite QBs and I really think he deserves a ring and possible MVP award.

Really? I'd kind of like to see the Colts tighten their grip on the one and done playoff record and see the Saints fall to the Cardinals.

Huh? Both teams are undefeated. What more do you need to see? If anything, the "one and done" title belongs to the Saints....and they've only had what..one, maybe two opportunities in their existence?

DL..., I agree with you more than you think, but it's times like these (when you say things like that) that I begin to question your sanity. :P

Lol, I just think that it would be funny to see them fall off. Not quite as funny as the Steelers five game hot streak, but very amusing in it's own way.

It's not that I'm unconvinced of their talent, think they're over rated or anything like that. It would just be funny to see someone spoil their fun.

Wow back in september who would have honestly thought that the Bengals would have the division basically won by now? Can't say they didn't deserve it this year though, after sweeping us and the Steelers. All of that can be erased though, and order can be restored if we manage to grab a playoff spot, and beat the Bengals
