He was revered in Philly for much of his time with the Sixers until his selfishness started to overshadow his play on the court. I haven't followed basketball all that closely over the past few years, but it's easy to see how he can't land a roster spot these days if he's been as much of a locker room cancer as he was in Philly. The man wasn't on the level of Terrell Owens, but his selfish persona often made coaches and the media overlook some of his finer qualities as a player and teammate -- when he was happy, anyway.

A sad ending to the career of not only a great NBA player, but also a great player for the Hoyas in his college days.

The problem with AI is that he wanted to start somewhere AND be on a contender team. His problem was that he wouldn't have a starting spot on any of the contender teams. Personally, I thought he should have stayed in Denver, but he would be on the bench behind Billups. I mean the dude is a great player, and I think he would be better to retire than waist the rest of his career on a crappy team.
