Yamon Figurs provides some intriguing possibilities to the Ravens. His personal trainer, the widely publicized Tom Shaw whose list of NFL clients reads like a Pro Bowl roster, emphatically states that he has no doubt that Figurs will be successful as a pro. Shaw explains that,

I've seen not hint of it anywhere else.

'Sides, why would they want to get rid of him for an unproven rookie? Sure BJ broke his leg last year but give him a chance to come back from his injury and see what he's capable of before making a decision such as that.

Especially for a as-yet-unproven rookie.

If i'm not mistaken Sports illustrated was talking about Yamon and that he is primarily a returner who can help in the passing game but that they speculated he was brought in incase Sams wasn't able to recover. I loved watching Sams last year and I hope he's fine but realistically we know that with our defense and the type of offense we typically run our return game is important enough to bring in an insurance policy.

Cleveland!?!?! Why do they always go for the players that leave the Ravens. Anyway, I hope the Ravens keep him around because you never know how the rookie will do or how his frame will hold up to the grind of the NFL. He does look promising and hopefully along with the Defense he will put us in great field position all season.

Because of Phil Savage, Ozzie Newsome's former disciple. Frankly, I can't blame him for going after Baltimore's cast-offs. After all, we've rarely missed when it comes to late-round and undrafted gems. But at the same time, the majority of them were cast-offs for a REASON. Really, though, it's all in the familiarity of the players. Hence their signing of Darnell Dinkins, Gary Baxter, Derek Anderson, among others. Who've all coincidentally done very little in Cleveland. ;)

what kind of value would B.J. Sams have in a trade

I'm not sure as to the value that BJ would have in a trade, it would all depend on how well e is able to recover from his injury and return to his previous form, but then again if he is able to return to the same form it might pay for the Ravens to hang onto him while Figurs adjusts to the pace of the NFL.

It would be a pretty dumb move to send him to a RIVALRY team I dont wanna see him returning kicks all the way down the field on us....

BJ was acquitted today. Anyone want to change their opinion on whether or not he gets cut?

that helps with his possible NFL suspension

but he wouldn't have been cut either way.
