Alternate Uniforms?

Well i know a lot of folks are superstitious when it comes to the all black uniform, i don't believe in those kind of things, we didn't only lose with that uniform ! i'll be so glad if we could see it again even if Harbaugh doesn't like that one but who knows ! I hope they will wear a black jersey at least ! It was great to see the all white uniform against the browns, we did pretty well ON DEFENSE with it ( yeah it was the browns on the other side of the ball ) ! SO, What about you guys, would u like to see us wearin the all black uniform again, especially since we never wore it against the steelers ( i think ) ! i know it's all about winning right now even if we play naked, but still, the all black uniform make us look guuuuuuud !

If there's ever a time to wear the alternate uniforms, it'd be Sunday; doubt they'd be worn on the road against Green Bay on Monday night (even though that'd help greatly with visibility in the snow, if it [i]does[/i] snow) since that's not the Ravens' decision. And doubt they'd be saved for the Lions game, so the only other matchup that would be likely would be the last home game against the Bears.

Remember, the rule is that alternate uniforms (save for the AFL uniforms worn by the original AFL teams this season) are only allowed twice a year, and usually at home. Therefore, with three home games left, this Sunday is a likely candidate for black jerseys or the all-black uniforms.

The all-white uniforms worn during the MNF road game in Cleveland don't count as alternates, since the alternate refers specifically to the jersey and not the pants.

The Ravens aren't going to wear the black uniforms against the Steelers. If they do I'd be surprised. Their uniforms are the last I care about right now though. What's the point of "looking good" during a game when you've lost 5 out of the last 7 games? Teams like the Steelers, Pats and Colts don't get caught in that hoopla and they seem to be just fine.

From a team standpoint, it's just for the primetime lights. Teams usually break out their alternates for the big stage, whenever possible. Plus, it underscores the significance of the game, in a weird way.

That, and at least if the uniforms are out of the way, some of the fans here would stop bringing it up as a talking point. (No offense to the OP or anyone in the thread, of course)

But, that could easily change over the next couple of days. They have until, I believe, tomorrow or Friday to make the decision. I don't remember the reason why, but it may have something to do with notifying the front office (probably because of the Reebok sponsorship), as well as getting the jerseys ready and made for gameday.

This is purely from a fan standpoint. The players on our team probably don't care one way or the other or at least they don't talk about it, and there's nothing wrong with fans wanting their team to look good. The Seattle throwup, I mean throwback uniforms should never be worn by fully functioning humans, ever. I don't care how much of a fan you are of the Seahawks.

Well, [i]most[/i] of the players probably don't care, anyway; [i]some of them[/i] probably do. I know the ones that do, are firm believers of the new-school football adage, "you look good, you play good."

The black pants always bothered me; the material made them look too shiny for some reason. Perhaps it's the lack of a stripe. I don't know why, but the Saints pull off the black pants better than our guys do.

Fashion aside (lol), I don't care either way about the uniforms, I just want the team to go ahead and wear them this Sunday so we can be done with these threads for the season.

This has gotten so out of control by Reebok. Now people are wearing these butt ugly retro jerseys to games.

I wish we could get away from the fashion shows, introduction dances, cute team names....and just play old fashion beat the snot out of the opponent football.

If our team truly needs a fashion jersey to make them win...we truly are poseurs.
