Redskins Safety Sean Taylor Dies

I was shocked to hear he had been shot yesterday and listening to the radio this morning I was shocked again. Taylor's career was just starting to take off, he was in his 4th year entering his prime as an athlete and was looking to be one of the best safties in the league.

R.I.P.

Coaches - Keep your players out of Miami! Nothing but corruption and crime down there.

this is a very sad state that sports are in today! all these athletes that are dying from violence is ridiculous! they have become targets for those jealous vultures who never had the drive to make something of themselves, so they try and take it from those that do. ( at any cost ) i am by NO means a redskins fan, but here was a young man who was finally seeming to put all the off the field nonsense in the rearview and focusing on a better way for his new family. some gutless low-life can't help himself and snatches everything at once! sean taylor died trying to protect his family from whatever danger may have lurked in his home. here is another example of a promising young man who's life was taken away before it really even started. my deepest of condolenses go out to all those that were close to sean. may he rest in peace

A real sad day in NFL, especially in the suburbs of DC. A truly gifted athlete that will be missed.

Some of my friends are Redskins fans, and we always used to jokinly talk about whos the best safety in game this year. This year pretty much seemed to be Taylors year to shine.

I hope that the Redskins can get themselves together after this. They have alot of talent on that team and right on the bubble of being a wild card team. It really saddens me that this had to happen during regular season games. I really don't know how they feel, but i only can imagine if I lost someone close and as talented as Taylor was, I would need some time off just to rest my emotions.

R.I.P Sean Taylor

Yeah, I always used to argue whos the best safety in the league for fun all the time. And you're right, this was the breakout year of a 'should've been' elite safety. R. I. P. Sean Taylor, my prayers are with you man

I'm not a redskins fan but i think that he was on his way to becoming one of the best safeties in the league. I also believe he had the ability/talent to become one of the best safeties to play the game.
