Steelers Signed 2 Players Today

So guess who the Steelers signed today, if you don't feel like following the link I'll tell you.
Corey Ivy and Rocky Boiman, I'm not that familiar with Rocky.
But I sure know who Ivy is, and I wonder if this is like Bill Bellichec trading us for our linebacker earlier just to cut him after he got our defensive play calls.

The difference between that trade and this signing is simple. Ivy hasn't been on the team this year. The last team he was with was Cleveland and even they didn't want him.

Special teams move. I like the Boiman signing. Not so much on the Ivy signing. I'd rather have had Tyree on ST's.

That's how every fan feels when he's on their team.

Well now he's your Hank Poteat. :P (Whoever that is)

It's kind of funny that both of them have played for the Browns, Patriots, Buccaneers and Steelers. Well, Ivy hasn't played for Pitt yet, but you know what I mean.

At least Ivy could pull off the rear-naked-choke while in mid air ( chest height to a WR) Poteat couldn't even tackle illegally

Not true at all. Why, he tackled a WR just this last Sunday while the ball was still in the air.

Ivy plays with a lot of heart. Unfortunately he's about 5' 7" with his cleats on.

Are you guys happy with Tyree? He is a ST's demon. Or at least was for the Giants. He's a real good guy too. I wish we could have signed him for our ST woes.

I've got no complaints. Our st has really improved this year. I don't cringe everytime they're on the field anymore. Except on returns. -_-

Tyree hasn't particularly stood out to me, but that's a good thing. If only I could say the same about Chris Carr.

he hasn't contributed many tackles, but is always around the ball and has played smart, knowing where he needs to be to keep containment (which is crucial) and letting others take the pounding lol.. i think he's played well, but hasn't done anything spectacular. it seems as if he may have lost a step compared to the Super Bowl year.. just an observation

You know what wouldn't be funny at all?

If Ivy just turns into a cornerbacking machine in Pittsburgh under Dick Lebeau.

it happens....Fab was a bum in Oakland but played lights out for us last year. Same goes for Deangelo Hall and Randy Moss.......The 4-3 not for everyone, just really good cover corners ala Asomuga(if thats how you spell it). Dont know if you noticed but Carr's been pretty decent in the 3-4.
