I Had A Dream

I had a dream and some of it came true. Dreamt that Dick Jaroun got fired in
Buffalo and we hired him as our defensive coordinator. Half came true now it is up
to Ozzie to make the other half come true. Our defense is only half what it was with Rex. Go Ravens

No thanks buddy...

Give Mattison some time, Rex had big shoes to fill. Plus if Mattison is going anywhere, it won't be mid season.

Why are you putting it all on the coach? Mattison isn't missing tackles, falling down, or blowing coverage assignments. The players need to be held accountable.

What is with this forum? Some of these posts have the worst timing I've ever seen. My friend, if you really were "crazy about the Ravens", you would know this team has given up a grand total of 40 points the last 5 games. You can say that statistic is skewed because of the the MNF game against the Brownies. However, even you if you take them out, this defense has given up an average of 10 points. The defense is no longer the problem with this team. The offense has yet to score a first half touchdown in 6 games? 6 games!!!

So enough with calls for Mattison's head or complaints that the corners can't cover and the team can't generate a pass rush because the defense has actually reemerged as the strength of the team.

Actually as Twoo pointed out our defense is alot better than we or analysts give it credit for. Yes its not organized chaos anymore, and no we aren't built around the blitz and pure pressure schemes. But the only real stat that means anything is points allowed, yardage is just the cherry ontop if you can have both. In all honesty I cant believe how well they played against Indy. We hardly rushed more than 4 and it worked somehow lol I thought forsure Manning would just tear apart our coverages. I think we hit Manning once all game.

Someone had already mentioned it but, have you seen our inability to come up with open field tackles? Even in the back field!! I'm sorry but every one of our DB's have the worst open field solo tackle in the NFL.

That actually occurred last night when Kenny Britt slipped after pulling away from Dunta Robinson who was grabbing his jersey.

Are you watching the Lions thinking they are the Ravens? What I have seen are some great and punishing open field tackles the entire year. Reed, Suggs, Sugar Ray, Webb, even Landry amongst others, have laid monster solo, open field hits. Have some been missed? Of course they have. These are professional running backs and receivers we are playing against. 100% success is too much to ask.

What has hurt us on D are the big plays down the field. A great amount of discussion has gone on here outlining the possible reasons for that occurring, most notably the play of the corners and the lack of a steady pass rush.

I had a dream Friday night that the Ravens beat the Colts 21-20. I woke up still even thinking "well, at least Baltimore won last night". Took a little while to sink in that it was only Saturday morning

Mattison's gameplan cleary confused Manning. He was frustrated all afternoon. After some early season struggles Mattison is clearly getting his act together. If he can keep it up against the Steelers I'll be convinced but until then give the guy a chance.

Some advice to the initial poster: Think twice before you start a thread. The flock is a savage group ready to pounce on ideas they disagree with.

I created a post that was supposed to be funny but no one laughed. In turn, I have a terrible reputation rating and realized much of our forum is sensitive and serious.

exactly. even it was the browns. nobody hold them down with no score on the board this sseason, except us!!! even it´s just the brownies it is not that easy to do!! i think our D is really good right now and i hope after the squeelers game we can say they are completely back. mattison is doing his job. they all do. we have added some young and fresh talent they can work with for about two month before season ends and maybe our cb situation is answered then. trust in our team dogs!!! they aren´t as bad as some people say!!! they fight back and prove it!!!
even if we go 5-11 this year there is no other team in this league i could ever love this way. this is the best franchise in nfl history and we will be a great team for many many years!!!
