Matthew Stafford

I was really impressed with Matthew Stafford Sunday. His play was totally awesome the entire game.

And to go back out at the end with a practically useless left arm showed a great deal of testicular fortitude and heart.

He gets mad props from me but he better not have that good a game when we play the Lions. :D

I have to say that 5TDs and 422yds is a beautiful thing. He is the first rookie in NFL History to throw 5TDs in one game. I think Detroit is going to be flying from the fire like a Phoenix in a couple more seasons. This teams offense is looking to be scary. Their D needs focus now.

Isn't that supposed to be "intestinal fortitude", because... oh, never mind.

I'm glad to see Stafford have a good game. I was feeling bad for him being the first draft pick and going to a team that was doing so poorly, while Sanchez was getting all the props because he went to a stronger team. I'm not debating which is actually better, just that I felt bad for Stafford because he had a much smaller opportunity to shine.

People are too hard on Stafford. He walked on to a team that went 0-16 the previous season. They have quite possibly the worst defense in the NFL, and their offense is held together with elmers glue.

Give him 2-3 years and he'll come around. He has the abilities just missing the team (with the exception of Calvin).
