Indeed.

Man, Heinz Field sucks. They're showing a guy pushing some kind of gagdet around to dry the field, he can barely walk.

eh it was a closer game than i think anyone would of thought....with pittsburgh barely edging the dolphins 3-0.....but i guess after that patriot game....anything is possible and no team is God like (as i have said countless times before).

Yeah, wish the Dolphins had won this. They really need a win just for pride's sake, and it would have been hilarious to see them beat the Steelers.

The punt getting stuck in the ground was pretty funny, though.

As much as I would have liked to see the Steelers lose, I'd still prefer seeing the Dolphins go 0-16. How can the '72 Dolphins continue to celebrate when their team is that horrendous?

funny way to look at it LOL.........the only team to ever go undeteated throughout an entire NFL season, could also be the team that goes 0-16....my my such a turn of events :P

That field is an embarassment to Professional Football - Seriously talk to a golf course or somthing about turf management -nobody should ever have a punt stick in the ground because its 4 inches of mud and wet grass.

The story behind the field is that the grass and stuff was torn up by a bunch of HS and college football games played there earlier in the week, so they decided to just put a new layer of sod down 24 hours before the game. Once it started raining, the water had nowhere to drain because of the new layer, so it just sat there and made everything lame and slippery.

I heard an ESPN analyst say it would have been a "shame" if the Steelers had lost due to the field conditions. Wrong. It would have been funny and well-deserved.

Darn straight!

Sad thing is this front was in the weather forecast for a week or so--so it was not a huge surprise. Lightening holding back a game in the North East in the end of November is even funnier.

I've always been a fan of outdoor games, on turf! A sloppy game...in horrible conditions...is what football's all about! NE LOVES a good Snow Bowl!

But, last night was a shame!

I understand that there was nothing else that could have been done, given the time allotment ant the damage that necessitated the band-aid quick fix...although I'm pretty sure, in the future, a college game and four HS playoff games will be played elsewhere so that this idiocy won't ever happen again.

But, it wasn't a fair football game! One of the Steelers commented today that, when you went into a three-point stance, your down hand disappeared up to the wrist! And, we all saw that kick "suck up" like it was a freakin' Pro-V Titleist!

Miami had nothing to lose...what's one more loss? And, obviously, that game could have easily gone either way. But, Pittsburgh had a lot more at stake than just not going winless. If they had lost, given the conditions, that would have really been a travesty.

In the end...justice was served! It's not fair to blame the Steeler players for the awkwardness that their stupid stadium authorites allowed to happen. After all, all the players really want is an "equal playing field".

I understand what happened that made the field that way but your not going to see a less than perfect field at M&T on Monday and we are hosting the Army v. Navy game this weekend. It was poor managment and a bad idea by heinz field.

ReED jucate...may I call you ED? HA!

Anyway, you're being WAY too kind calling it "poor management"...it was a-freakin' a-stupid-a! They'd have been better off just playing the game off of the muddy field...and not compounded it by adding another layer of pure slop on top! I'm sure they're rethinking all of that as they're slaving to repair the whole shebang, right now!

Meanwhile, as a veteran "grunt" from the most unpopular war in US history...and having my first-born son a soon-to-be-retired lifer "squid", I'll be tuned into the Army/Navy game! With all due respect to the child of my loins: F-Navy; GO ARMY!!!

It's football. Not tennis.

Yeah, the ball actually bounces in tennis. Freaking punt.

I thought that was pretty funny actually. I like the way the game is played today, but these type games are good too every so often....although I'd have preferred a snow storm.
