Pats Game

First, I would like to thank all of you who voted for me in the Post From the Press Box. All of you who didn't are going to burn in the fiery depths of hell. Seriously, it's an honor to have been chosen, and it gives me a good excuse to visit the family. I don't usually get a chance to talk with other Ravens fans down here. Most people I talk to here just make fun and point out all of the faults. So I relish these boards and enjoy reading what everyone (edit: most people) have to say, good and bad.

That said, I'm wondering if the Pats clinching their division will have any effect on their performance on Monday night. It could be just the edge we need if we can learn from what the Eagles and Colts (boo!) did against them. Granted, we're going to have to be perfect in our execution, which seems to be lacking these days. Maybe the Ravens can take a page out of the Terps' playbook and despite losing to some lesser opponents, still be able to knock off some of the big guys. For my first game at Ravens Stadium since our playoffs loss to the Titans, I'd like to see a competitive game...which the Ravens win, of course.

My congrats, also, JonM.

I wish I could make it there, too...but, I'd be burned at the stake in the freaking' parking lot, I'm sure...LONG before gametime! HA!

The Pats having already clinched their division is a HUGE concern for us Pats' fans...will that be a cause for them to take the peddle off of the metal? However, among the Pats many goals for the season is securing home-field advantage throughout the playoffs...and there's still considerable amount of work to do before that's achieved. So, I wouldn't, necessarily, expect a "let down" by this coming Monday night. The Patriots really haven't much of anything to celebrate...yet! Winning the division was a "given" from the get-go.

It's more of a concern regarding whether or not the Pats can pull off the "perfect season", only. According to Belichick, the ultimate goal is another Lombardi...all this undefeated crappola is nonsense! If you choose to believe him, you might expect that he'd be tempted to "rest the horses" once home field advantage throughout the playoffs has been achieved, right? But, I wouldn't wager your first born on it, either!

Never-the-less, I expect that the Ravens will come out roaring...or caw-ing, I suppose? I'm reasonably sure that the Pats have no intention of being anybody's "road kill" for the rest of this campaign!
