This Season Looks Pretty Dismal Right Now But

15 posts in this topic

Count on the players to look back to this year in 2010-2011 and feed off some of the losses we had this season and fuel upon it. This is Im gonna consider as being a growing pain year, 2nd year head coach, 1st year D-coordinator, 2nd year QB, 2nd year RB(who is actually better than most of the veteran RBs). We can't just keep soaring up without any growing pain, I think we need a step back in order to have a catastrophic soar up. Anyone agree?

On a sidenote, my only concern is will we be able to replace Ray and Ed effectively when they age and retire? Ray I'd say has a couple years left, Ed Reed, Im not even sure because of his neck injury.

I love the ravens and will always support them as always but pretty much since harbaugh has got here there have been some pretty bad front office decisions on keeping players and who to bring on. This years the worse. I don't think anything looks postive with him anymore.

Check the Pinned thread, mate. Season is not over.

We're one game under being number 1 in the wildcard race ; )

Started out the season strong but have weakened along the way. I still however think we will come out ok. We need to beat those Steelers next week and I think we can!

The next 6 games, I believe, are in our favor. Steeler look less consistent than us and the rest of the teams are awful AFC teams or average NFC teams. I believe any given Sunday we may lose 1 of 2 of them.

The season is not over.

Thanks to Oakland and Kansas City we're still in the playoff hunt.

The WHOLE AFC north lost. We were the only team that lost to a good team.

Colts 10-0
Lions 2-8
Chiefs 3-7
Raiders 3-7

Dont think we suck that bad.

13 points. 13 points is the total of the 4 losses which we could have won!

only game we played horribly in was the second bengals meeting.

That's very true, all of our other losses have been one play or one possession that determined it.

We're just not a clutch team.

Looking forward to next season, I'm more worried about our receiving corps than the defense. Mason is almost sure to retire. That doesn't leave us with much.

I think Ray Ray is slowing down but is still very adequate. Reed is still also very good even protecting his injury. On defense I think our biggest weakness right now is still our pass coverage although they did very well today (but they had to sell out the run more than I'd like).

I'm far from panicking. The playoff hunt is by no means over, we aren't that far out of the wildcard race. Let's set things right against Pittsburgh next week!!!

[/quote]u read it from the wrong side!!! 13 points. 13 points is the total we couldn´t put on the board to win those games. just to say that it´s only 13 points doesn´t make it better in any case. when u aren´t able to win those cluth games what do u have in the end when u are 7-9 or else? saying we are only 28 points away from beeing 13-3? i just don´t get this. the fact we loose those games very closely doesn´t please me a bit!!!!

by the way: when the time comes for ed and ray there will be someone to fill theire shoes. hope ray gets our D-coordinator after he retires :) and ed the d-back coach. that might be pretty cool, no?

Since the bye week our Defence has been more consistent giving up on average about 10 points per game. But our offense has done the complete reverse going from scoring for fun to struggling to find the endzone!

Defence before the bye - 21.6 ppg
Offence before the bye - 28.1 ppg

Defence since the bye - 10.2 ppg
Offence since the bye - 17 ppg

Besides the fact we couldn't get into the endzone I thought we played pretty well across the board yesterday. If only the playcalling was different when we were on the 3, we would be talking about a good win instead of a tough loss. I personally wanted Flacco to sneak it again after the first attempt was short! I think he would have got it in eventually.
