Next Up: Steelers

well, I feel like crap after todays game. I really thought for a long time we were going to pull this game off. Well, that's over now. Its now time to Focus on the Steelers. They just lost in Overtime to Kansas City. Overall im happy the way we played today. Alot of people would have never thought the game would have been that close. I wonder how Big Ben is after getting hit and taken out of the Game in KC? I hope hes ok, then again for our game, I hope he sits. Thoughts?

Looks like Big Jen has a concussion. They are being ravaged by injury.

This is now a must wing for us. We can only afford to lose one more game this season.

I don't like playing each other twice so late in the season. Who made up this schedule?
We were suppose to play them opening night. But we declined the option due to the fact we're always playing prime time games in Pittsburgh.

If we couldn't score a TD against the banged up Colts defense, what makes anyone think we're going to score against the Steelers.

The loss to the Colts was tough, yes...but while we're here complaining about a 2 point loss we're not realizing that it was against one of the two best offenses in the NFL this season, next to the Saints. We could have easily been looking at a 20 point difference, but the defense held fairly well and Indy blundered a bit too.

All in all, yes I'm heartbroken at yet another loss by less than a field goal, but I think the Steelers are still going to have to fight hard for a win in either of our matchups. I'd rather lose to the Colts than the Chiefs.

Worst case scenario, we finish the season with 7 wins (who really believes we'll lose to the Lions or the Raiders, hm?). Realistically I think we have a good chance to take out the Bears and Packers, so that's 9....and if we beat the Steelers at least once, that's 10. And that's a pretty good season for any team.

In my heart I know that the Ravens and Steelers are the two best teams in the NFL...too bad the scoreboard doesn't show it.
They have both proven multiple times that they are not the best teams in the league. That honor goes to the teams who have not lost any games.

Your heart is wrong. Colts and Saints are both 10-0. Enough said.

I think we have a good chance to win. Especially if Big Ben doesn't play.

I think we all should send Kansas City a big thank you note for their upset.

If Pittsburgh won, we would've been down 2 games from 2nd place. That's huge!

Actually I think it is a lock you will sweep the Steelers. Today was a hard fought game against a great team. Ben is out with a concusion, palamalu out for a month, ward is hurt. I'd say your chances of the sweep are excellent. Keep the faith!

I've noticed we have alot of bandwagon type fans around here anymore.

On topic the bank was rockin today at the Colts. you think that was loud?! just wait till next week, Baltimore at Pitsburgh, the number one rivaly in the NFL coming from fans, coaches and analyst from around the country! Coming off this loss Baltimore will be a scary team to face.

You're right. I guess I meant to say "should be" the two best teams given the potential on each side. I suppose that's why they play the game each week.

Polamalu is also out for a month. Next week is looking promising.

Kind of pitiful isn't it when it comes down to counting on the other team's injuries as blessings.

The Ravens can still make the playoffs.

I think we have a shot to sweep the Steelers this year and I think we will.

Combine that with games against Oakland, Detroit, Chicago, and Green Bay and I don't think that a 10-6 or even 11-5 record is that far-fetched.

It's unfortunate (for them) that the Steelers are facing a bunch of injury problems but I mean, that happened to us last year didn't it? If they can't reach the playoffs then they didn't do what they needed to do to win with who they had available and therefore don't deserve to go. Now it's up to the Ravens to prove that they're worthy and that the Steelers just can't hang this year.

Luckily for them, they'll get to face a team that can barely score against Cleveland.

Still need a miracle to make the playoffs... Like harbs staying away from the team. Sorry, hes a high school coach imo.

This has got to be the dumbest comment I have heard today!

Wow you're more negative than I am, and I'm a fairly grumpy YOUNG MAN.

I thought mods had to be all super positive.

There is no reason why the Ravens shouldn't beat Pittsburgh. Forget last year, the Steelers are more than beatable this year. This offense needs to seriously pick up the pace though. Even if Charlie Batch ends up starting next week, FGs aren't going to win the game.

Should we just blitz almost every down? Ben seems shaken up if he plays and will be nervous and throw quickly if we rush him, which might make up for our corner backs and we might get a few interceptions/sacks.

Thoughts?

I don't know, I'm pretty confident that we will find a way to lose. If I weren't a Ravens fan I would be interested to see just how it happens. We've lost on defensive meltdowns, dropped balls on offense, missed kicks and a forward lateral. How will they do it next week?

If there were no other reason I'd say we're going to lose because our offense is not efficient (to say the least).
