Your Best Area Of The Game?

23 posts in this topic

What is everyone's best area of Madden? Myself, I'd say my best area is ST, I seem to return a kick for a TD, and my average punt return is like 15 yards. I'm really bad at passing offense, I just can't seem to move the ball downfield, so I'm limited to dinky dump off passes. My run game is OK, I'm just starting to integrate outside runs because I pound the ball between the tackles 90 percent of the time. I've found in All-Madden, the best way to go on defense is a zone blitz, if you just rush 3 or 4, they have all day to throw, and then if you blitz, they get the ball out so fast. I've won some games online without scoring offensively, one game in particular, my TOP was like 9 and a half mins, and I won 28-3 (2 KO return TDs, a pick 6, and a missed FG returned for a TD.) I had like 6 INTs, 3 FFs, but just couldn't do anything on offense, but needless to say, my D was excellent.

Passing offense is my forte, especially out of the shotgun. Granted, I still like to pound the ball, and I will get creative with my passing under center (as some on here can attest to), but otherwise, I'm a YAC machine and create big pass plays out of nothing. My main weakness in passing is throwing the go-route, but other than that, I'm great at intermediate and some deep routes.

I use A LOT of motion, which pisses a lot of people off, but it's how I disguise run/pass.

probably rush offense. Im TERRIBLE at pass offense and worse at pass defense, but I dont usually have much trouble running the ball. Just ask RavenRage92, I busted off three straight 70+ yd TD runs on him, lol.

Defense. I've stopped some pretty good dudes. If anything, I struggle to score but I'm like the 2000 Ravens actually.

Pass O and Run D is where im the best. I usually struggle with exactly the opposite, Rush O and Pass D. If I could be patient and not hold sprint as soon as Rice gets the ball I might get better. Also I cannot run draws AT ALL, P's me off. ST is pretty even, I usually get to the 30-32 every time and on kick returns and I get down quick enough to not give up any big returns on ko and punts.

My strengths are definitely Run O and Run D. My Pass O is OK, but similar to OP I usually stick to short-mid passes, and with the Ravens, having McClain and Rice on the field and both usually covered by LBs or D-Linemen I throw a lot to my backs. My Pass D completely depends on getting a good pass-rush. If not, my back-end coverage breaks down. I just got a laugh after reading back over this because in essence, I play like the Ravens do right now. Good rushing O and D, a lot of dump-offs to backs and poor back-end coverage.

On a somewhat related note, on D what player do you guys control? I am garbage at coverage, so I'm almost always a pass-rusher (either a D-Linemen or LB on the blitz). The only coverage player I'll ever control is Reed or Landry in zone coverage.

NT 99% of the time. This way I have options on whether I want to choose a gap, flow the QB into my blitz or eat a block for my blitzers.

I control middle lb or fs always... Of course lewis and reed also love patrick willis. He's a bonecrusher and 90 speed

I usually control the DE, but I have a hard time sticking with one player. i usually switch too late... i.e. Im blitzing with the DE, the QB throws it and I continue to move towards him while switching to the DB covering where he threw the ball, now Im still pressing DOWN and my DB just runs away from whoever he was covering. :34853_shakehead:

Run O and Run D..i do have a pretty sweet screen offense..mainly because i cant complete squat deep. My Pass D all depends if i can get any rushers going, sometimes it can get rough and QBs will have over 5 seconds.
Usually control one of the LBers when i play. When i get frustrated i move to DE, usually doesnt help

and STs is probably my best ill get a KOR for TD once every couple of games and rarely get many return yards on me

I threw a PA BOMB today. I get about one every 4-5 seasons. I had been running the ball successfully all game; up by two tds (against JAX), so to start the 4th qtr I went PA deep in 1WR, 2RB, 2TE set.

Kick off returning is so easy. Get a guy with a 97-99 speed and wait for your blockers to set up and pow.

I like to think I am good at passing the ball, but I throw a boat load of interceptions only because every DB on All-madden plays like Ed Reed all the time. There is no way in real life my receiver only catches 60% of the balls thrown to him and the opposing DB catches them all.

I can't tell my weakness, because then Franny will know how to beat me.

I'm usually a passing guy. Not big 30 yard passes, but nice 5 yard crossing routes and doin' work with my receivers as the run with the ball. Defense not so much. Always seem to get a big play but on me on 3rd down.

really, I still play madden 07 (I know behind the times yadda yadda yadda) and my secondary (as ravens) can't catch an interception dipped in Tar, that lands in their hands

I've been playing madden 09(Don't have 10) and I'm not good at offense at all, lol. I can hold my own on defense but get beat deep sometimes because I play Ed Reed and don't follow the play lol. I've gotten better I remember my first game on all-pro I threw 7 INT's with joe flacco and still won the game 20-17, Now I'm throwing 1 or 2 a game and winning by 2 TD's. It's time for me to switch to all madden soon, Not looking forward to the first game

Side note- I was playing the other day and was winning by 6 points with 1 sec left(against steelers(cpu)) They threw a short pass to holmes, well to my shock he broke 6 tackles to get the TD. He went threw ngata-lewis-johnson-rolle-landry and reed, I was like what the heck? how did that happen.

My best area of the game would have to be my front 7 on Defense. I am usually stout against the run which is why I have been playing with Safeties lately. On Offense I am pretty balanced I would say, like to run a fair bit more if the Run D isn't stingy, but I tend to have some costly INT's.

PS: If anyone wants to have a game just add me on PSN - Cousineau91
