I'm in agreement with everyone else that all teams have their share of idiot fans who can ruin it for a lot of other people.

I will respect fans, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to do the general trash talking of their teams, especially when we're playing one another, it's expected during games. I will also keep it clean, but only to a certain point because I expect the same from the other. If the other fan decides to take the trash talking to the gutter by bringing up the Ray Lewis murder charges or by saying that Baltimore is nothing but a bunch of thugs and when is the next time one of our players is going to shoot someone, the gloves come off, and the results tend not to be pretty. I've cost myself a few friends on Facebook because they went that route with the trash talking.

I have resided in both Maryland and PA and thus live near and related to a few steeler fans. It is MHO the Steelers have far more arrogant fans than any other team primarily when they see opposing fans in their home state.

Away from pitt many are very well behaved & good sports . But the sight of ravens fans in PA seems to make their blood boil.

Apparently it is OK for steeler nation (such as it is) to exist but a group of folks wearing Ravens swag is forbidden to quite a few toothless residents of central Pennsyltucky......... paddle faster I hear banjo music

I usually only post here on game day, and I want to agree with most of what's been said. Every team (and city) has its fare share of ugly and nasty fans. Saying that one city or team is uglier or nastier than another, only feeds the flames IMNSHO.

Somebody asked me here last week during the game if I'm really a fan of both the Ravens and Steelers, and the answer is an unqualified "Yes!" It is possible to be a fan of two rivals. If you had two sons and loved them both, you'd understand. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

I think the whole AFC North needs a big hug after yesterday

Cleveland blows a 24-3 lead and loses on an untimed TD after a defensive pass interference call on a hail mary as time expired.

Pitt loses in OT- to the Chiefs of all teams

Cincy blows a 10-0 lead- to the Raiders of all teams

Ravens lose 17-15......you know the story

gotta be the worst day of our entire division

To a busted-up rookie quarterback who had to fight off the medical staff to get back on the field no less. I feel horrible for the players but it couldn't happen to a more deserving coach. Not one for the scrapbook for the AFC North.

My neighbor is a Skins fan and we commiserated last night while taking target practice (rubberband guns) against all things blue. He hates the Colts about like I hate the Boys.

Figures, they win so he calls in. They have Oakland on Thursday, so you'll probably hear him again next week. Wouldn't it be awesome to see Oakland pull another upset?

I live in south-central Pennsylvania which is an amalgam of football...of course we've got Steelers and Eagles fans but we've also got a really faithful contingent of Cheeseheads here in York. I got guff from a Vikings fan the other day (in passing at Gander Mountain, he smirked and said "Wide left". I seriously wanted to beat him over the head with a fishing pole). I've seen Cowboys and 'Skins gear.

I of course get the most grief from the local Steelers fans (can't we all just get along...we all bleed Penn State blue and white for crying out loud!). Yeah Steelers fans are smug and I'd love to smack the smug right out of some of them, but for the most part they're really good people. My Crew and I have road tripped to Pittsburgh and never had serious problems (but then again we travel in a rather large pack, too). We haven't road tripped to Cincy yet (that's probably in the works for next season) but the Bengals fans I know are true blue...they've stood by the team through all that pain.

The worst in the North? From personal experience, Browns fans. Hate MOST of their fans. Hate the team. Hate the city.

thats funny because I remember when he was in New England, Willie McGinest faked an injury against the Colts on the final drive that led to a goalline stand and a Pats victory. I guess he had no problem with that huh?

The story here is that after the moster helmet to helmet hit Ray Ray put on the ocho, Chad was going to charge Ray Ray until a fellow Bengal held him back and Ray Ray supposedly said "Love you man". As the two are friends and clearly respect each other I can believe most of that. But believing Chad would be stupid enough to charge Ray Ray is just beyond belief! :229031_rofl:
Ruki was the one who stuck his arm in front of Ocho after that play.

I know this is hard to believe but I only hope for an exciting, hard-hitting football game with few penalties and no injuries. If I had to pick one, it would probably be Pittsburgh if only for the simple reason that I think they have the discipline and experience this year to send the Bengals packing. That may be a dumb reason, but I don't see the Ravens right now as SB contenders, but miracles happen, and if they happen to get a WC and go all the way, I'll be with them!

Bottom line for me is that there's only room for two great teams in the AFC North, and the Bengals ain't one of them. This year has to be a fluke.

Thanks for illustrating my point that Steeler fans have no respect for other teams. Even when it is deserved as it is in the case of the Bengals.

I'm a Steelers fan. Have I disrespected you or your Bengals? No I haven't. Would you like me to cut/paste all the Bengal crap YOUR Bengal bretheren have been posting throughout my Steelers forum? No you have not sir so my apologies for using such a broad brush stroke. Let me rephrase. Some Steeler fans show no respect to other teams even when it is clearly deserved.

No there is no need to cut and paste what Knuckleheaded Bengals fans have said. I know it cuts both ways.
He (Ochocinco) described seeing a “machine” with the number 52 on its chest coming at him. He hoped the machine would only shove him, instead he got hit and he saw “the light.” The Bengals receiver says that what he should have done is apologize to Ray for even coming into his territory, and the next time he’ll run in a different direction.
Can't watch the video at work, but I've seen it before. Chad is hysterical sometimes. This is why I just find him to be silly and fun and not the jerk that T.O. is. When he wore that HOF jacket, I thought he was a jerk like T.O. I should have known better since it was so obviously homemade - by someone without crafting skills. :)

Child_of_Humanity, have you seen Chad's video of another hit he got from Ray last year (or before)? He said he was supposed to block the safety, but the safety was elsewhere so he had to block Ray. And he lost. (his words) LOL. He was funny telling the story to one of his coaches. I crack up everytime I rewatch it. It's somewhere on utube.

I recognize you've already back-tracked in a later post from your broad generalizations, so I give you credit for that.

True, I'm not a fan of the Bengals, never have, never will be. Has nothing to do with respect. Funny you say that the Bengals now "deserve" [<-your word] respect. IMO a winning record doesn't necessarily merit respect for a team. One must also look not only at the team's record, but also the games themselves. From what I watched this year the Bengals got quite lucky this season. Sure, they exploited weaknesses and stupidities in their AFC North opponents (Ravens/Steelers). I give them credit for that. Still, I don't see the same depth or inner strength that I see in both the Ravens and the Steelers this year, my two teams of choice.

It's always fun to come suddenly on another team's board supporting an opposing team with a winning record and play the role of "nice-guy-can't-we-all-just-get-along-by-the-way-give-my-Bengals-respect." It's even fun to post flame-baters like you have in other sections. But after a while, it becomes obvious. I'm sort of a "newbie" here myself, joining during last year's play-off season, so I know folks here are not sure about me either. I hope to earn their trust.

In the meantime, cheers, and I wish you and your team well. Happy Thanksgiving!

Well actually Bengals and their fans respect the Ravens and their fans because the Ravens and their fans respect the bengals. Just one of those common courtesy and civility things. By your definition the Bengals could never earn your respect because they don't have inner strength (whatever the heck that is) as you measure it. So basically it is you deciding if they have something and then you might respect them. Sounds like and end around to allow you to disrespect them. But that is just how I see it.

Not sure what "nice-guy-can't-we-all-just-get-along-by-the-way-give-my-Bengals-respect" is either or what exactly it is you are accusing me of. But my actual belief is that we can all get along and respect each other. Again just common courtesy and civility. Some have it, some don't.

I hope we can manage to be civil and discuss football facts and opinions.

Great detective work! Now go find a post of mine on the OFFICIAL steelers board! The url is http://www.steelers.com/fanzone/mboard/ and you will not find a single post there from me because they denied my registration. Even Sam Spade gathered information about the case before making a finding public. I guess he did that so he did not look silly! :)

Yes I did find Steeler Nation and they have been very welcoming so far. Not just a bunch of Bengal bashers there. Actually people who discuss football. So I am sorry you went through all that effort to try and make me look silly when you did nothing but turn it around on yourself. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

Gonna have to put you on ignore too as I have no use for people that don't want to do anything but make stuff up. Perhaps you could redo your screen name to reflect your true allegiance. You try to act as if you can't decide between the Ravens and the Steelers when almost every post you make shows your a die hard Steeler fan. Are you so ashamed of that you need a disguise? :th_sneak-1:

Love these Steeler fans here trying to make something of nothing because I don't like their team or their disrespectful fans. Why bother? I have not hid my distain for your team or your foul mouthed disrespectful fans. Relax fellas. You don't need to go digging for posts on other boards and thewarden does not need to send private emails saying how much he dislikes me and that I will be found out. Found out about what? That I dislike your team and your disrespectful fans? Did I say that enough so you realise I am not trying to hide it? :229031_rofl:
