Suggs May Be Done For Year

55 posts in this topic

Agent says sizzle may have season ending surgery. So much for the injury not being "catastrophic" coach.

Man, I hope this report is wrong. It will be interesting to see if the Krueger kid can play, but I don't want to find out this way.

Update: suggs out at least 2-3 weeks with small tear in MCL. This is just speculation, so hopefully we find out specifics soon.

http://twitter.com/RavensInsider

Hearing that Ravens LB Terrell Suggs has a minor tear of his medial collateral ligament, out at least two to three weeks, per a source

Here is what Ravens Insider on Twitter says, nothing about season ending but 2-3 weeks at least is a long time and those are 2-3 important weeks!

First of all, I didnt watch the game, so can someone please tell me what the hell Quinn did to my man crush?

Secondly, no Sizzle against the Colts hurts. But, something that Kruger does a great job of is playing coverage. Dallas Clark will be fairly quiet next weekend if we have Kruger on him.

Chris Carr intercepts the ball so Brady Quinn thinks it is a good idea to cut block Suggs who had nothing to do with the play

Watch at 1:50

O and Brady said he was trying to go after the ball carrier... :229031_rant:

Theres no way Kruger plays coverage on Clark and shuts him down. Nobody shuts Clark down single coverage, nevertheless a rookie LB that has played all over 2 quarters this year. Personal opinion.

Suggs' agent didnt say anything about season ending. Heres the article...
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/17/suggs-agent-sounds-off-on-quinn-too/

This is badddd for the Steelers game as well...who gets after Roethlisberger like Suggs (besides Bart Scott)?

Well, I am not concerned about how we will do against Indy with the abscence of Suggs. If the next man up philosophy is true, somebody will rise to the occasion. Maybe Kruger has a monster game? you never know these things and thats why we have to play the games

I would feel far better going into the game with Suggs rushing Manning as opposed to a kid who has barely played yet. It's more a defensive confidence/peace of mind thing I suppose. We need all our proven players to be in and to step up.

In theory they will not gameplan for Suggs now and think of Kruger as irrelevant. At least I think they will plan that way and believe that Kruger will be a non factor. I think underestimating him is going to be the downfall of their O line

This is lousy news. Hopefully Suggs will recover sooner than expected.

Perhaps now is a good time to bring up this: Some injuries hurt more than others

Defensive injuries generally, do not affect a team's performance as much as offensive injuries do.

I feel sorry for Suggs, but honestly what will his loss really do? Will we allow a 100 yard rusher again or maybe fail to pressure the quarterback some more?

I heard he may be done too. Not good especially with this stretch of games coming up. Will the league fine quinn. Had it been Flacco he would have been fined.

Well, as much as I initially thought it was malicious on Quins part , i can kind of see how he may have been going for Carr. It was a pathetic attempt, but its a QB trying to save his own arse and maybe redeeming the INT. The overhead view kind of shows what happend. It's unfortunate, no doubt.

Figures he gets injured for the first time in his career after signing his lucrative deal... obviously, it wasn't his fault, I'm just pointing out how ironic it is. Quinn needs to be fined and/or suspended.
I dont think it was dirty, I just think Quinn had no idea what he was doing. And Id say Suggs had a lot to do with the play,he was right in front of Carr.

The more I watch and reflect on it, I think you're right. The guys an horrible player and has terrible decision making skills on the field. I think the real culprit here is just Quinn being an idiot.

I know we got some talented linebacker...None that fit his role very well but him...
I think JJ and Suggs at the Olb position were the blitzing combo all Qb's dreaded to play against.

I really hope Suggs can come back this year. But it really annoys me that he was injured by a guy who should be playing in the UFL.

McClain, Barnes and Kruger all need to step up.
