Colts - Ravens Game

30 posts in this topic

Don't know about you, I would like to see the Colts special teams introduced at this weekend game. Don't know if the visiting special teams have ever been introduced in the past, but I think it should happen at this game. Why? I'm sure you can figure it out. If it happens, I think everyone should be on their feet, cheering as loud as possible when Matt Stover is introduced. If they can't introduce the special teams, I hope the Ravens organization can somehow give the fans a chance to show their appreciation for Matt. He was and still is a key part of Ravens history.

Then we can go on and beat the Colts!!!!

Matt Stover is a huge part of Ravens history. It will be very hard to see him in a Colts (UGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!) uniform.

And Lord, please do not let him attempt a kick to win the game. Even though my blood is Purple, it would be very hard to root against him. Kind of like watching Mussina pitch for the yankees..........

I would love to see Matt Stover kicking field goals in this game, u know why? Better him scoring FG's than Payton Manning scoring TD's. Our WR's better get open for Flacco, otherwise we might not have a chance.

I agree with you about showing appreciation. After the franchise kicked him to the curb its the least they could do at his "welcome back to kick our a**" game.

The visiting team has never had special introductions at a home game individually nor divided into units; they just run out of the tunnel all together as one team, with no pyro or music or anything. No NFL team does it.

That said, they'll probably have a quick graphic on the SmartVision boards before the game saying "Thank You, Matt" or something like that, similar to the video tribute the Titans put together for the late Steve McNair when he was under center for the Ravens in his return to Tennessee.

If it's a SmartVision tribute, I hope they do it right. Matt deserves a nice tribute.

I never picked against the Ravens, I know we gonna beat them physically, but not on the scoreboard, so I say:
TIE 27-27 How's that?

I too also think that we will beat them physically but if we allow the game to go into overtime I highly doubt it'll end in a tie. I was thinkin more like 23-27?

This is EXACTLY what CAM CAMERON is thinking... and you are both WRONG!

We need to RUN THE BALL. And then... RUN IT SOME MORE!

All of the Ravens wins, they've ran the ball at least 20 times. In all 4 losses, they have failed to do that. And in the past, against the same Colts defense that is pretty suspect, we have failed to run it. Billick insisted we let Boller pass and we lost.

YOU MUST KEEP PEYTON MANNING OFF OF THE FIELD. THIS IS WHY BILL BELICHICK WENT FOR IT ON 4th DOWN!

Please, just keep running the damn ball. If you get to the goal line, pull a Maurice Jones Drew and take a knee. Then take a knee to run another 40 seconds off the clock. Then run it into the endzone.

It hurts to look at these but...

2008 BAL 3 @ IND 31
2007 IND 44 @ BAL 20
2006 IND 15 @ BAL 6
2005 IND 24 @ BAL 7
2004 BAL 10 @ IND 20

I think it is safe to say that we don't fare well against the colts and the only thing that may save us is their depleted defense and Marvin Harrison who ALWAYS burned us. If I was the colts I'd bring Harrison back for one game given his history against us.

I think its 50/50. Depends on how well our defense responds. Offensively, I think we will put up enough points to win (I'm thinking we'll score in the high 20s). I think we'll also do a decent job at controlling the clock.
But we cant keep Manning and crew off the field all day; how we play in the red zone will determine the outcome of this game. If we do lose, I think we'll put up a good effort, for a change, instead of them kicking us in our nuts repeatedly.

lol although that is a good theory (i have the same theory with Jimmy Claussen, how can somebody that ugly be the face of a franchise and be good?) Peyton makes up for his squiggle nose and face that looks like its been pushed back into his skull with his ridiculous football IQ.

lol that only worked against C-Mac. Every corner has 1 guy they just cant cover no matter what they do and Harrison was C-Macs cryptonite. Even when they both had no knees and could barely run he couldnt cover him lol.

Dont think we will win. Both sides of the ball have been inconsistent. What happened to Air Flacco? Now he is a one trick pony dumping passes to Ray Rice

If our CB's defend like they're on an Ice Rink....they will piss us all off. If we can finally get sum consistency on both sides of the ball, I love our chances at home. If not, It will be a looooooooooooooooooooong night.

Nope. While I would never "boo" Matt Stover, I think its too soon to slap Harbs in the face with that.

Don't worry, once Vinatieri comes back in a week or two, Stover will most likely be back with the Ravens. They've already alluded to the fact that they would have brought him back if he were available.

Can't wait to be there! I will loudly cheer for Matt if introduced. Not to shove it in Harb's face, but just to show my appreciation for his career in B'more. Matt will probably be back in Baltimore. But if the Ravens lose to Indy and drop the Pitt game, the playoff picture becomes VERY sketchy. I think Matt has a better chance of being re-signed if the Ravens are in serious contention. A kicker like Matt is essential for a playoff run.

I love Stover as much as the next fan, but on Sunday he's the enemy. Cheering ANY Colt gives credence to Indy and takes away support from the Ravens. So I'm reserving my cheering for Cundiff and the guys in purple on Sunday.

I doubt they'll give him any focus on the scoreboards as it could be perceived as undermining Harbaugh and our current kicker.

Though I'll be happy to applaud Stover when the game is over!
Agreed. Stover is a class act but I cannot cheer for an opposing player. Plus he is playing for the COLTS.
The law of averages says we will beat these guys sooner or later. I hope it is Sunday. The Colts are good but not unbeatable. Been reading the Colt message boards and most perdict a blow out. They are also pissed about the point spread. Something about no respect.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stover gets booed if he's introduced. Not that I WANT him to get booed but it's possible considering he is a Colt. But, if he kicks a GW field goal in this game, that would really hurt. It would be like a big F U to the Ravens and us fans.

I really don't wanna sound like a hater, but my favorite way for us to win this game would be for Stover to MISS a gw field goal. And I hope tweety is right. Logically speaking, we're gonna lose this one, but sometimes logic is overrated. Can we PLEASE get the W?
