What Does Matt Stover Do?

This has nothing to do with Huchka (sp?) getting canned today.

I was wondering what Matt Stover does with Indy.
I really doubt he moved his whole family out there for a temp job. As good as he is and also being a kicker he probabally doesnt even practice.

Does he just fly out for games? Did he just get a cheap apartment and come home when he can?

Does any body know?

I'm glad there was more to the question stated in the title, because I was going to have a serious session of head shaking if the legitimate answer was "Kick the ball". But yeah, I'm sure he just kissed the children and wife and told 'em he'll be back in a couple of months. Because it is essentially just like Mod2 said, a business trip.

Haha, no not at all. I would only think that if you question was seriously what does Matt Stover do in the NFL. Actually, I think my reaction would be to ask you what kind of Raven fan you are.

An interesting addition to this would be: if the Colts go all the way and win the Super Bowl, and Adam Vinatieri returns to finish the season, would Matt get another ring?

Good question. I know in baseball, if you're on the team at any point during the season of a world series winner, you get a ring. I remember hearing about Nomar getting a ring the year Boston traded (or cut, don't remember) him. I remember hearing about Shockey getting a ring from the Giants super bowl victory a couple years ago. I believe he was on IR at the end of the season, so that's different than being cut.

Only the 53 man roster, training and coaching staff, and FO people are guaranteed a ring. I think that would be up to the discretion of the owner, but my guess would be yes...
I mean the Colts gave Edgerrin James a ring, and he didnt even play for the Colts in 2006.
