It seems to have been turned into a word game now. Intentional, dirty, cheap, unnecessary all seem to identify what type of play it was.
To most people I would agree; most people view it all as the same and that's their decision and to each their own. I personally view dirty plays and cheap shots differently; always have and always will.

There's really no right or wrong in this discussion it's simply everyone's take on it; I am not going to tell anyone they're wrong nor do I expect anyone to tell me I'm wrong; it's discussion.

In the end it's just truly unfortunately that Suggs got hurt BUT I am glad it wasn't a more severe injury because it obviously could have been a lot worse.

Ok.. you can show me 100 pictures of the play (and I've seen them 100 times) and it will not change my opinion; the play was dirty/unnecessary, it was not a cheap shot.

If we have to agree to disagree then so be it but my opinion is not going to change. *shrugs*
Wow, those pictures were pretty blatant, BrownsFan. He went after Suggs' knees, and wasn't even trying to go after Carr. Dirty, cheap shot... 6 for you, half dozen for another.

Cheap shot. And don't give me the he apologized crap. He apologized while saying he didn't see Suggs, which is absolute crap. It was poor judgment at best. If he was going for Carr, he must be in the habit of landing on the ground three feet in front of the ball carrier as a form of tackling.
Dirty tackle. I guess we each have our own opinion.
THANK YOU MOD 3!!!!! Now if that was not a CHEAP DIRTY SHOT I don't know what is. No longer have to argue because the proof is in the pudding as they say.

P.S - Mod3 - where'd you get that game pictures/footage?
You never had to argue in the first place and personally I never thought you were arguing; we were discussing the play and had different opinions. If you think for a moment I'm happy that you don't have Suggs you're poorly mistaken and obviously don't read my posts that often; I never come on here to bash anyone and have never hoped a player get injured.

Again in the end; your opinion is yours and mine is mine.

The fact that Suggs is now injured because of this little punk elevates it from a discussion to an argument the second you say "It wasn't a cheap shot"

I never disputed that he went low on Suggs; I KNOW he did. I have said multiple times that that is why I view it as a dirty/unnecessary tackle. He should have NEVER went low on him.

My point is he did not go for him thinking "I'm going to end Suggs season on this play." THAT (and yet again, my opinion..) is why *I* do not view it as a cheap shot. Most posters on here do; I don't. Feel free to believe what you (generally speaking) wish.

If you're really that mad at me for having a differing opinion I don't know what to say to you. If I was on here flaunting the fact that Quinn tackled Suggs then I could see you and others being extremely pissed and rightfully so but I've stated multiple times that it was a bad move on Quinn's part and I am GLAD that while it is unfortunate Suggs is hurt that it is NOT more serious than initially thought.

You have your opinion and I have mine. As I've said to others; this is a case where it appears we will agree to disagree.

Going for the knees is cheap, period. Knees are vulnerable in everyone and with the right angle, one of the cheerleaders could have done damage. If Quinn wants to play with the big boys, he needs to hit like them. Of course had he tried that he would have bounced off Suggs like a quarter on a boot camp bunk. Ergo, he went for the knees.

Spin it however you wish.

I'm not trying to spin anything. I'm giving my opinion and accepting yours and everyone else's. If you feel it was a cheap shot then ok. I personally don't; simple as that.

I'm not mad at you. How could I be mad at a fan of a team that only scored 3 measly points in 2 games against my team - just teasing. But seriously, I don't even know what we are debating anymore. We say something, you counter it. If we are conversing it seems to be going in an argumentative direction. Yes we can agree to disagree as it appears to be the only way out of this thing now.

I could see how Quinn DID intentionally go for his knees though. He had a terrible game, 2 int's, 1 pick 6, didn't even amass 100 yards through the air in his own town. If that's not a recipe for frustration I don't know what is.

Of course, no one knows what was going through Quinn's head after his second bad INT, but I think frustration set in and he took out it on the nearest Raven, in our case, Suggs... who, based on those pictures, was about to destroy Cribbs.

This was taken from another site:

"The Cleveland Browns football practice was delayed nearly two hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Head coach Eric Mangini immediately suspended practice and called the police and federal investigators.

After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to players was the GOAL LINE.

Practice resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again this season."

LOL - now there's something I'm sure we can all chuckle at, even you BrownsFan

Browns Fan is not your prototypical Browns fan, but I will phrase it another way--Brays Quinn was taking out his frustration on the first person he could hit and that happen to be Suggs knee--he knows better.

I'm still trying to figure out how the hit put on Cribbs by D. Edwards was illegal and deserved a fine!

See I knew this was a joke even before getting to the goal line part. Mangini cancelling practice? NEVER!

I appreciate the compliment and again as I've said Quinn simply in my mind made a very poor tackling attempt. I'm sure there was some frustration.. hell how can you NOT be frustrated on an inept offense like that?

My only point really was that you can judge Quinn as a terrible QB and he's well on that path but anyone that has seen him talk can't argue that he is a stand-up guy and felt bad about the whole thing.

Again, I hate the fact that Suggs is hurt but I am GLAD it isn't serious because it could have been much worse.

From the impressions I get from your posts you seem to be a passionate fan of the Browns and perhaps an overall fan of the sport itself. I can appreciate the fact that you continually defend Quinn for an illegal hit to Suggs. That is your right. The only problem I am having with all of this is you have stated more than once that you think Quinn was making a poor attempt to tackle Carr. If you watch the film or even look at the photos that have been so graciously provided, it is completely obvious that Quinns intention was to hit Suggs by taking him out at the knees. Carr wasnt even within 6 feet of Quinn when he lowered his head and shoulders in the direction of Suggs knee. He wasnt even looking at Carr. How can this be mistaken for an attempt to tackle the ball carrier?

If this was suggs making this block or whatever this awful play was it would be 50K or more which is freaking ridiculous. He should of been suspended this should of been a statement penalty not a slap on the wrist. I actually had a lot of respect for brady quinn and really wanted him to succeed in the league. That's all gone now I hope he's doomed to the browns for the rest of his career.

I am a die-hard Browns fan and have been for a very long time and I also do enjoy watching the NFL (as well as just about any other sport) in general.

To reply to your thought I probably should have been more specific; I think Quinn was making a poor attempt at a tackle on Suggs, not Carr. Quinn has said he didn't see Suggs and I don't know if I believe all of that. I personally think Quinn knew who he was tackling and just went about it the wrong way and should have never gone low on Suggs. He probably just doesn't want to come out and admit he went low on someone who didn't have the ball.
