I really hope they reveal the fine amount i'd like to know
They will...

Isnt there some kind of penalty for EVERY personal foul. I think it starts at $5K, but im pretty sure anyone who gets flagged for a personal foul gets fined,. Heck, sometimes players get fined for things they werent flagged for.

The absolute thought that Quinn did this intentionally is absolutely ridiculous. You can hate the Browns and every single player on their team all you want but Quinn has been NOTHING but a stand-up NFL player during his horrendous debacle of a career with the Browns. He has apologized multiple times for the incident and has moved on.

Sorry for the delay in getting rid of the second troll; I got out of class as I got the notification and headed straight to training at work. Basically left class to go to class again, lol.

Anyways, appreciate y'all for hitting the Report button and (mostly) not quoting the troll. Good work, all. ;)

The league was just concerned that the hit on Cribbs was retaliation for the chop block on Suggs from Brady Quinn. I don't believe that to be the case, nor does Cribbs or the Ravens, but Mangini and the Browns certainly had that in the back of their head. I'm sure the fine was just a precautionary matter. Better that it was $5k than $15k or anything bigger.

I have to agree. A 10K fine to a quarterback is like asking him to buy your lunch at Burger King. Why bother Goodel?

By stand up player do you mean funny?

Because his dink and dunk passes were beyond funny.

If you get the chance log on to ESPN(11/18)and check out Jim Rome's burn on Quinn's cheap shot.Complete with video of a clear shot to T-Sizzel's knees.Like him or not Rome got this one dead on.
I wasn't able to find it yet, but since you said that was from today, it probably won't be up until tomorrow or Friday at the latest. But thanks for that, I'll keep it in mind.

Didn't Brett Favre get a fine for a low blow?? I think he did so Quinn should be no different he should be fined so let's see how this folds out i would guess that since it's a raven that got hit they won't fine quinn but i couod be wrong. But he needs to be fined.
Quinn got fined but I think his problem is a bad team, bad coach, and bleak future.Maybe a change of scenery and a fresh start would do him some good. They could teach him you just can't go for the knees!

He played for Notre Dame, I can't say I'm surprised he plays dirty. There was absolutely no point to that hit and no excuse for it.
I think he has a bad case of "Flacco Envy!"

We need to agree to disagree on this one--I think Quinn was frustrated and took it out on the first person around him. I would expect the same thing out of Tom Brady.

It just sound like the Browns are an organization in termoil.Jamal Lewis said as much all week before the game, still going for the knees could seriously impact any players future but intent is hard to determine. That said, frustration? Wouldn't be the first time, point well made!

By stand-up I mean "politically correct," saying the right thing and keeping himself in check. I know the Browns suck and that is not the point of this topic so feel free to bash me or the Browns in other threads if you'd like.

The point of this thread is whether Quinn's hit was a cheap shot or not. You can feel that it was and I feel that it wasn't.

We don't "need" to disagree on anything; we choose to and if you choose to disagree with me then so be it. Personal fouls happen all the time and it's unnecessary.

This sounds more like a case of since Suggs got hurt everyone wants to crucify Quinn. It's football.. injuries happen. If it were the other way around I'd be pissed as well but that is the game.

With that said I don't expect many people to agree or see my POV; that's their decision and opinion.

What is your argument? That it's perfectly legal to throw your body at the legs of a player who has nothing to do with a play?

Sure, Brady Quinn didn't have it out for Suggs. I believe that, but it's a cheapshot none the less, whether he meant it or not.

If you hit somebody on the street with your car on accident, it's still manslaughter if you meant it or not. Just because you don't go around running people over everyday doesn't change the facts.

Not to compare this to a vehicular manslaughter case or anything :P

When Suggs hit Tom Brady's leg, it was still labeled a cheap shot, why? Because he went for Tom Brady's leg, even though he was pushed into the leg, it's still a cheapshot. Like it or not.
