I'm not going to defend Quinn or anything but it sounds like you hate the "rule" more than you do Quinn. QBs are protected like little children and it's annoying.. example being the personal foul call that Trusnik got for tackling Flacco low.. all welcome the "Brady Rule."

Point being Quinn blocked low, he got penalized and he'll get fined as well. It doesn't make it necessarily "right" what he did but what's done is done.

There's a very big difference between the shot Flacco took... and that "brush" Brady received when the Ravens played the Patriots.

I found it disgusting how ProfootballTalk mocked Ray Lewis complaining about that call earlier in the season, and then comparing it to the hit Flacco took tonight. Flacco went down and his leg got a direct hit. Brady got a tickle, stayed upright, danced a jig crying for a flag.

HUGE difference. I was in complete shock that they called it. It deserved to be called, for sure... but the Ravens NEVER get those calls. Still completely shocked.

I was also shocked. I was like WHAT! But I guess they figured that on MNF, the "high dollar" QB was Flacco so they had to protect someone since Brady or Peyton were not playing. :P

Didn't Brett Favre get a fine for a low blow?? I think he did so Quinn should be no different he should be fined so let's see how this folds out i would guess that since it's a raven that got hit they won't fine quinn but i couod be wrong. But he needs to be fined.

Since we're discussing Cribbs injury, this is just in from PFT:

As it turns out, the Stanford-band play that ended Monday night's game with Browns receiver Josh Cribbs being carted off the field should have never happened.
... The Browns never should have gotten the ball back because they took -- and were awarded -- a fourth time out during the second half.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/17/cribbs-injury-was-set-up-by-fourth-time-out-for-the-browns/
Yeah, I noticed something weird there. The announcers said that the Browns had one more time out, but the "counter" on our screens showed that they didn't. I thought they had called 3 already, but I wasn't sure. Then they called for another T.O. and got it, so I figured the announcers were right.

Seems like the only one that got it right was the graphics guy.

Browns fans are yelling saying edwards hit was a cheap shot over on nfl.com
Browns fans should be talking about the future of their franchise - that team look like they are going to implode!

They held up some funny signs at the game last night - funny they were all true!! ;0)

Lewis calls out Quinn:

"That's an illegal blow," Lewis said, per the Associated Press (via Sean Leahy of USA Today). "I don't care how you want to look at it. . . .

"When you're running down and you're looking at the quarterback going at somebody's knees who doesn't even have the ball. I want to see if [Quinn] gets the same fine I got or even higher. Now [Suggs] is out four or five weeks because of some baloney like that."

I saw that too, There can't already be a determination as to how long Suggs is gonna be out already tho. If Ray is spot on with the time Suggs spends out thou, I think he should persue a career in sports medicine after he retires from the NFL. I don't even think doctors can make that call that early

Yes difference but I hate this rule. Lastnights call on Flacco was junk. The guy was trying to get off the block and went for the tackle against Flacco, thus was giving the flag. The NFL needs to rewrite this rule, it's BS.

Did Ray get credited a sack? Because he didn't actually tackle Quinn down. Quin slid down to avoid being hit. So it is considered a sack?

I don't think I'd lose any sleep worrying whether Quinn will be a success.

Thanks for posting this. I will admit I cheered the hit by Ray, come on now the damn Browns were down 16 - 0 and don't want to end the game even though the clock showed 0:00 in the 4th. Mangini wanted to score so he doesn't look too bad and look what happened!

RAY IS MY GOD!!! :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

I don't know what the official rule states, but I would consider it a sack. Falling down to avoid a sack is just a sack without the pain. The defender accomplished the same goal: ending the play in the QBs hands behind the line of scrimmage.

He should have; his hand brushed Quinn as he was diving down so that contact should count for a sack.

Please don't feed the trolls. The two hits were not even close to the same, anyone but a homer can see that.
